Yes, would have realised the potential that saw him get SL Young POTY in 2005. And, apparently, NL Young POTY 2003.

The same could be said of Richard Agar. He is young and inexperienced in coaching terms in the Super League yet he gets a weekly bashing on this board from most people

The confidence bashing he's had would leave most young players rocking in a corner.
Personally I hope Agar drives him out because I would love to see him alongside Welham at Rovers in the centres. Give them 2 seasons together and Morgan could have a fantastic centre pairing, pace is there just need some positional and tackling technics which comes with experience together and good coaching.

Thinking quotas. Websters wages plus others could allow a full british backline of Briscoe, colbon, welham, hall and fox plus bringing in Finch to link up with Dobson.

Welham's defence is one of the worst within SL.

He's scored 6 tries in 9 games. That's second only to Briscoe's 7 in 10, and one more than Yeaman's 5 in 11. That still makes him our top try-per-game player, even in a season where he's mainly played out of position.

The fact that this seems to have escaped you leads me to believe that you aren't actually watching Hall at all.

I dont disagree but he apparently jumps out the line intentionaly to try and disrupt the flow of attack. He has also scored 7 tries in his last 5 games so go figure.

Fair enough. Although you do know that the top teams have on average 3 overseas players in their backlines, don't you?

Hall scores more tries per game than anyone else in the side, and has done for the last few seasons. Without half backs and with no real service. For some reason this is continually overlooked or dismissed because of his unarguable problems in defence.

So we are both in the same boat.

OK fair point but his net contribution is what counts and if anything his defence is getting worse and not better. I've said a few times if he could defend he would be an outstanding centre.

And if Whiting had dealt with a bog standard high kick they wouldn't have scored their first. Does that mean we ought to slate him as well?

Most player made mistakes yesterday - even Whiting made a few. With different luck some of those mistakes would have cost us points. There's often a fine line between success and failure.

I adjusted it to compensate for tries scored against teams that had put the cue on the rack.

The point is that Whiting 's performances are consistently better than Hall's. If Hall could defend to the required standard do you think these threads would appear ? Of course they wouldn't. Instead there would be threads calling for his international inclusion. The fact that these threads appear and the international calls don't says far more than anything.
