Fair point mate, just meant a lot of wingers differ in style. E.g. some say Offiah is the best winger ever, but from what I saw he was just a finisher and couldn't really pass or tackle (which is why I still rate Robinson above Offiah as an all-round winger).

Neither winger got much service, although the ball did go right a little more than it went left. Both came inside to get more ball. Briscoe was offered two chances to score and took both, with the second needing some scoring. Fox had one decent scoring chance and dropped the ball over the line.

Briscoe was also better in defence, and made fewer errors during the game.

It may be too early to say that Briscoe would be the better player over the course of a season, but ATM he's in far better form than Fox.

And with regards to those comparing their meter making etc, I've lost count of the number of times Tom draws in 2/3 players running from dummy half and still manages to push on and get away offloads - he's as strong a an ox.

Fox is not pants - he's fast, returns the ball well, breaks tackles and can score tries. He seems to have lost a bit of confidence though recently and I think he needs to work on his defence. To be fair, many wingers have a weakness in that area but I do think he is particularly weak there at the moment.

It's a great achievement for Tom to be called up for his country after just 29 first team games. I'm so glad we have him on a long contract, the lad has a big future in the game.

I hope he gets selected in the Four Nations, there's no problem with burn out as he only played 13 games this season. The only issue would be him joining pre-season training later than the rest of the squad but he isn't a playmaker so I don't see that as a big problem.

Tom reminds me of a young lad that played for Featherstone a few years back, Newlove was his name and he went on to be a half decent centre! Briscoe is very strong with a fair turn of pace, add a bit more experience and some decent coaching

Spot on. If Briscoe can fit into the national set-up with a couple of weeks training he should be fine slotting back in at FC. Plus he should be relatively fresh after his injury lay-off. I'd joke about us only doing fitness training rather than ball skills anyway for 11 of 12 weeks preseason, but fortunately Long won't stand for that.

He's not that fast IMO, otherwise I tend to agree. Also seems a little slow mentally at times.
