Wasn't a full strength side at all but worryingly most of that was down to the coach's selection. lineham, crooks, heremaia, horne and feka should all be in our starting 17 IMO

I've seen us play much much worse. There were flashes of good rugby from us, and it was a good, hard fought game, their forwards were just a little hungrier imo.

I watch quite a lot of American football, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I like the tactical element of it. It's all about outsmarting the opposition. It's harder to micromanage a game of rugby because it doesn't have the time outs etc. However when it comes down to crucial moments in the game we just don't have any smart players who can make good of a bad situation and turn things in our favour.

Case in point. 2 minutes remaining, we have just survived one drop goal and now face a drop out. We are very unlikely to be able to defend a second one, with Rovers in possession defeat is almost inevitable. For me the only play is a short drop out, as close to the touch line as possible. If we get the ball back, brilliant, we've earned ourselves a point. If they get the ball, lie on in the tackle, concede the penalty and make Burns, who hadn't been kicking all that well, kick a touch line penalty to win the game. Instead we just let them have the ball so that they can trundle it under our posts and kick an easy 1 pointer.

Burns may well have slotted it over and people would say what the hell were we thinking. But to me it sums up what we lack. There's no one out there to take charge and play what he sees. It's all too conventional. Paea take a drive, then Carvell, then Ellis, then training ground move a, then move b, then punt it into the corner. No one gets their head up and plays what's in front of them. Miller is the closest we've got, but he's still raw.

I'd also add Tuson. Thought Hadley was pretty quiet (although not the only one) and in my opinion should be replaced by Tuson who was very strong last week.
This is assuming Tuson's knock isn't too bad and will be fit for Monday.

Lineham & Crooks, i'd agree somewhat but for whatever reason Crooks has lost his form under the toothless one and Lineham is injury prone unfortuantely.

Heremaia should have being on the bench as should have Feka but the toothless one disagrees unless Feka is injured.
