The squad we have and the way we have won the first 2 games we can be a match for any team,we have showed we can score tries from anywhere on the pitch plus grind out a tough battle like we did against hudds.

Agree with you there Wolfie, just hope we keep putting the performances in. No team is going to win every game but with how we have played so far and the extra depth we have at the moment i don't fear any side.

Crusaders have scored almost 40 points away from home this weekend and Quins have beaten the much-fancied Catalans. No one should take anything for granted. Particularly the London game, which has, over the years, been the worst home fixture of the season and normally resulting in an away win (and this year on a 5 day turnaround, whilst they have a friendly next weekend). After the last 2 years I go into every game hoping for a win but expecting defeat - can't be disappointed then.

Just watched the Crusaders highlights, majority of the tries they scored came from high kicks to the big centre Mellor. Looks like Whiting could be busy.

There is a different mentality about the team this season.. we will win more games this season ..the lads can now battle it out ..they will off days but I think this could be a good season for us (fingers crossed no injuries )

Could well happen but we have three tough games to get through yet and they will be tough. Cas beat us at home last season and you only have to look at their result at Leeds and Wakey today.

If you don't turn up ready to play then you will get beat.

This is the main difference people like Fitz, Long and O'Meley have brought to the team this year as opposed to last year inparticular.

....And Salford got beaten last week by a side that was winning for the first time in 10 matches. Quins beat a side today that was playing its second game abroad in 7 days and that had 5 players unavailable for training due to much publicised reasons......

Hull look to me to be a quality side this season and i will be amazed if Quins or Crusaders beat you.

Echoed, These guys are born winners and great leaders in their own merits. I think even if we do lose a couple on the bounce the confidence will still be there.

All she looks at is how fit players are.

We should beat both those teams on form. Just saying it's not the certainty you are making out. The league is really difficult to call, especially at this time of year, when surprises tend to be more common. And we have been particularly abysmal against London over the last few years, to the point where it's almost worth booking a holiday when the fixtures come out to avoid it. It's not like we're playing a team that's just got beaten by last year's 12th placed team, at home, when they have at least 6 first teamers out next week, is it? That would be a certainty

More of a certainty than beating a team that lost a big chunk of its squad through deportation last year and are still waiting for some of the replacements to arrive? Aswell as having 3 players in their side that were deemed to be no longer good enough to play for Hull. If we are talking certainties..

When we look back at last season's first 5 games it was a case of us gaining very close wins whilst playing poorly.

Unfortunately we failed to improve and we ended up having the season we all want to forget.

This year we have won 2 very hard fought games, whilst playing some of the best rugby I've seen from a Hull team in a long time, and I use the word team more appropriately than I have in a long time too!!

We say it every season but this is going to be a very close league where losing to teams you normally expect to beat isn't going to be unusual. However we have shown that when up against a good defensive side like Huddersfield were on Friday, we will not panic and collapse. If that game was played at this time last season we would've lost it.

But one buoyed by scoring nearly 40 points away from home this weekend and full of players wanting to prove a point against their old club.

Martin Offiah has joined Clarky in tipping us for the title (apparently he said this last week). Lordy.

I know its hard enough keeping fans calm but with the sky pundits tipping us for trophies it getting worse (didn't stevo tip us for the Cup)
