Is he any better than Howarth either as a tackler or Hooker? Don't think so

I'll be really disappointed if we sell Houghton, although people would see how important he us to the team and that's why Leeds are interested in him, despite people claiming he isn't a top 4 hooker.

I agree with this.

James Roby he isn't, but DH is a good solid hooker, and there are not many better in SL I can think of. Considering we are at best a top 6 side, then having DH is pretty good going, as well as him being a true clubman, team player, model professional and 100% committed in every game.

He does however need spelling, puts and incredible shift in week in week out.

I'd be gutted to see DH leave FC for Leeds and agree we would really miss him.

Get's an unfair amount of stick IMO for his lack of creative flair, when in a lot of games he is the most committed person in defence.

I think some fans just expect we should have a world class player in every position, which just isn't realistic.

Because in recent yrs 2nd row has become 1of the most important positions on the field. No decent team has a poor back row.
we have had 2 of the best when on the field together. But thats not been as much as we'd like. The step down is massive. Love whiting but is he a mini or ellis.

Everything good about catalans generally originates from their 2nd rows. But they like us lack quality depth there and when 1 of zeb taia or whiteheads out they miss them massively

heighington is similar to mini really. Not as good on his feet but more powerfull with an offload. Plays prop as well. Manu would be a tremendous signing

Me neither, especially another 30+, - we already have 6 30 odd year olds earmarked for the the forwards.
Mini Ellis Pritchard Whiting Feka & Yeaman. we need to cull a couple - Yeaman? Feka? Whiting?

Certainly when both Ellis and Mini were out this season we looked poor in that area. Maybe we don't want to look as poor next season with the same replacement players and/or Ellis becomes a prop.

Same...cannot understand why we arn't bringing in a hooker, IMO most important role on the pitch, yet if DH gets injured who's going to play there?

The award for biggest oversight in squad depth goes to... Radders!!!! I should really hold my tongue for now until signings are finalised

We would have to sign a player if Houghton is injured either on loan or permant, Rovers, saints seem to have managed to do that this season.

I wonder if Manu does sign they might push Mini or Pritchard to prop, bit of a waste but an option.

The good thing about signing Manu is he is 28 and with Mini, Ellis, Whiting and Pritchard all in their 30s it could a great short and long term signing for the club.

What a pack we would have next year if this signing comes off, if the two new backs work out we could surprise a few next year.
