Whilst you guys are short in cover at HB (which Phelps can play), imo its Rules job to go get the cover when Agar has clearly highlighted as an area he wants strenghtening.

In the last couple of years you have recruited (Long, Fitz and O'Meley who have WC backgrounds, Moa and Lauki who the fans seem to like, plus Westerman, Sharp and Turner who all are meant to have very good futures. Now you get Phelps who is a proven tryscorer in a position of weakness for you yet you still complain.

I cant see why Wayne Bennett wouldnt join such a positive club

I haven't said westerman and sharp are poor signings, I said our recruitment hasn't addressed the squad needs. Do you disagree?

And here's a bit of 20:20 vision for you - we'll spend half the season at least with only 1 fit half back and have a back rower playing there which will see us in the same position as we've been in since 2007. To compound that, we've only 1 hooker which leaves us very vulnerable

I am hoping we can develop Turner in the h/backs, hooker cover is a concern though.

I have no problem with the signing of Phelps who i think is a good player, only the shoddy timing and the fact that Agar chose to spend so much time chasing a player who was never available.

Westerman wasn't available but we got him in the end, you have to aim high.

Delighted with the Phelps signing. He was excellent at wigan and was particularly good at fullback so I think he will be a like for like replacement for Tansey. He was underrated during his time at Wigan but SL fans but Wigan fans will tell you how good he was for them.

Also he can cover centre, wing and the halves. His best asset is linking into the line and also his distribution plus he plays with bundles of enthusiasm.

Agree with all of that, but he's just a little suspect under the high ball. Fantastic at coming into the line and delivering the final pass, but isn't the sort of running fullback like Tomkins or Roberts. Definately a decent player though, suprised its taken this long to get a club.

gives us a proven try scorer , creative player and cover which allows rich to go back into the centres

Who says the deal was on though as the chairman and coach of Crusaders plus the player himself didnt seem to think so but only the 'in the know' crowd on here? Obviously they must be right though.
