Good to keep the momentum of recent weeks going today. No players had a bad game and everyone had a dig, especially in the fist few minutes when Cas were camped in our ten, Hull of the first few months of this campaign would have been a couple of scores down and chasing the game . We did have some good luck , with them missing some key players but a pack missing Sao and Taylor, really took it to them and gained supremacy . Hoy looked rusty, this game will have done him good , he is yet to really hit his straps and , hopefully, that will come if he gets a decent run without injury. Griffin’s dissent was a bit disappointing , the referee obviously was not going to change his mind , especially as he totally ignored the opportunity to review the play by way of the video ref, but we stuck to our guns and I do finally believe we have now turned the corner . Saints will be a real test, I don’t see us winning but we can compete and all of our cup wins included hard draws , ala 2005!

Yep I agree swain and mini were quality but in a good side. Clifford is 22 and without a plate in his arm would be in nrl POSs playing for Australia. He has led a team that was a bag of crap for most of season and just listen to swift on post match interview to see how player s rate him. Here is a shocker for you. Actually just to give some balance swains chargedown of sinfields drop goal at end of 2005 final was as important as mints 52 tackle in terms of winning cup. While its of course luck of the draw, this format with SL teams coming in late doesnt help matters for repeat fixtures. And all those early rounds have resulted in just York making it through so it all feels pointless.

But anyway onto FC and really pleased that we are on the right track and building something, Cas had a few missing today and illness in the camp so there will be tougher days ahead but there is a drive and determination there now that was badly lacking a month or two back.

We played well most of the game but remember the opposition were really poor so i have to laugh when i see you getting so excited.
We have some proper games coming up so lets see if we can carry the confidence into some wins on the road against much more difficult opposition.

Just think it’s part n parcel of the poor standard of officiating which doesn’t seem to be addressed nor the officials held accountable. Granted we are struggling as a sport for officials not helped by the apparent toxic environment that was created the game lost some decent officials.

Can understand Griffins frustration though. Thankfully it didn’t affect the result.

Yeh we certainly seem to have had a big shift in attitude in terms of out on field discipline of late, which is why Cators on the 5th was frustrating as it let to Cas’ 2nd score.
It’s definitely made a difference to our energy levels throughout the 80mins as we actually look fitter too.

That was great. Swift gets the headlines but it was Clifford’s service that let him put the show on. Hoy looked a bit rusty but still put on some slick passing. Trueman looks the business. Only wish we could’ve piled on the misery, with finally having our first choice spine out there, but to Cas’ credit they kept coming even if they couldn’t turn it into points.

Can’t complain with Saints. They’re there for the taking this year and you’ve got to beat the big boys if you want to get anywhere. Should be a decent game.
