He'd verbally agreed to sign for us I believe hence James Clark on Twitter putting pictures of Scott's Porridge Oats and Prince. He had a change of mind though and got his agent to call Pearson to say he wasn't coming.

Correct got an offer from Brisbane at the last min, was a blessing in the end, can't believe Rovers are thinking of signing him, seems they aren't learning from past mistakes.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of a surprise signing, nobody knew about Griffin or Connor until the day it was announced.

None of us know who it is so it's bound to be a surprise

Won't be long until someone claims too though. You always use to know who was signing, but the club under Pearson seem to be better at keeping things quiet.

I think Pearson alluded to having to create some room, which they were working on.
They must be down the line with it if they're only 2/3 weeks away from getting someone in.

Wonder who's leaving? Naughton could be one although I can't see him leaving sufficient space to secure a decent stand off. Maybe it's a quota player?

I think the outside back could be someone like Oakes but then again we've signed that kid from Halifax.

Think the two players will be more established going by Pearsons comment.

Lancaster, HTW and two out on loan would be my guess.

Depending on who we sign I think Tomo, Carlos and Naughton could be under threat.

It's a tricky one. Need a big squad and to use it; the fact that all the senior squad played pretty much all season caught up with us in the end, so will need more pro active rotation next year. Wondered about Thompson and Naughton but not masses of cap space freed up there. Depends how close they see Downs, Dash, Turgut, Matongo, Logan and co.

Well thrash me senseless with a damp Sports Mail!! FC we site says, Connor is coming. You simply come up with a plot and go on and on and on about it. Sticks and stones, old boy.

If we're to believe we are near the cap, which seems reasonable given we're losing pryce, yeaman and some fringe players whilst adding connor, griffin, a couple of youngsters and have upgraded some contracts. We can have some discount on houghton's salary due to his testimonial but we already had that with yeaman so the benefit is probably negligible. We seem to have been struggling to fit michaels in under the cap so it doesn't feel like we have enough to sign 2 decent quality players, let alone a top 6 plus someone else unless we shift some more players out.

For me, signing another half is pointless unless they will be our first choice 6 and add some real value to the team. As it says in the wail, what's the point signing another promising/up and coming half when we already have 2 or 3 of those on the books. If michaels does sign then we're still full on the non fed trained players so won;t be an overseas player unless someone is leaving which could be a possibility. Maybe tuimavave is feeling homesick which would explain why we're in the market for a 6 and looking overseas

Thought Soward was signed up elsewhere already, I heard/read he was going to 'tellins. he certainly wasn't staying at London right from the off.

It all sounds like the club is in a bit of a pickle, desperately offloading youngsters for season long loans (or just binning them off completely) to make some space in the cap yet have signed a utility back in Connor when we already had cover and with Griffin on a fair wedge, far more than Yeaman I'm not seeing how we can get anybody of note.

Maybe there is an undiscovered number 6 in PNG who'll play for peanuts or maybe the plan is to try Connor at 6 if the 'signings' don't come off. In which case why not give JA a go with some serious off-season training starting from now not whenver the club go back to training. IF he is serious about cementing a place at 6 that's what I'd be wanting to do rather than play elsewhere.

That wasn't my point , he's not to big to be playing in the championship so would be worth a punt by them was my point , and also he'd still be a great super league player !!!
