Personally think a lot of people are going over board when talking about having Horne and mcgoldrick in our team for next season after 1 decent game against rovers . Think we should wait till they both start doing it week in week out .

I'm not sure anyone's saying they should be in the first choice 17 next year, more that 1 of them will be worth having around for when we have an injury in the backs. If we can't get a decent fullback though, I personally would live with Horne for a year.

Kicking was going to be my first point, Hornes not a great kicker but he is better than McGoldrick. Horne is a better tackler and faster, McGoldrick's get better hands. I believe Horne is 2 years younger and while been injury prone has missed far fewer games this season.

I can't see us going into next season with McGoldrick, we dangle a carrot in front of him but unless he would be really cheap we shouldn't need him next year.

They was plenty on here after Monday saying they'd be happy with Horne as our fb next season . Said all season we get 1 good game in 4 from Horne and there's no were he should first choice in my eyes . And they was uproar when we signed mcgoldrick , now after 1 good game , it's get him signed up .

If we had to save money somewhere and had Chase and Brough (for example) as our halves I would be ok with Horne at FB. In a salary cap system we won't get quality at every position. Hornes 30, McGoldrick is 32, Hornes only missed 3 games this year (according to Opta) and I would imagine will get less wear at FB.

I would be happy with Horne at fullback for next season as our priorities for recruitment this year has to be Halfbacks and Props. Horne is decent at fullback and will link into the line well. I'd rather have Horne than McDonnell for next year.
If a quality fullback suddenly appears then go for it, but at the moment I doubt that that will happen.

If we did sign another fullback then I would still try to retain Horne as a utility cover, although I don't know how happy he would be in that role.

There is no way mcgoldrick is a better player Han Horne. Mcgoldrick was good against rovers, but so was Horne, if you take away his mistake, mcgoldrick also made a couple.

Over the past couple of season Horne has been a better player.

Saying that unless we have a top and expensive halfback pairing I wouldn't want either in th 13 next year.

All I would say is that whilst we don't get enough good games from Horne at stand off any more, his strike rate has been better at fullback this year IMO. I know he's not played that many games there, but he has looked good when he has. My main concern about him as our fullback for next year would be his fitness rather than his performances, TBH.

As for McGoldrick, I'd still let him go, personally.

If McDonnell is signed up already (not sure were we are up to on that rumour) then Horne would have to be happy with a ulility role, can't see him getting a starting spot anywhere else in SL for 2013

I have to agree with Carl on the Horne front, he is a much better at supporting the ball carrier than he is creating the gaps for others. Playing at full back gives him the opportunity to join the line where and when he sees fit. He is also relativley good under a high ball and isnt scared to get clattered!! my only worry would be his 1 vs 1 tackling should the opponents break our line.

Hull KR fan texted me today, fairly connected, said he will either sign with Rovers or join Leeds. Unlikely to be FC?

Taylor was doubtful for FC game so could well be injured for this week.
