I agree with Bonaire. Due to not engaging defenders, he takes nobody out of the defensive line. Shaul can't pass, but he would be given a better chance of putting a centre or winger through the gap, if Sneyd committed to the line.

But imo sneyd not that type of player, hes basically the best kicker in SL, He does run the ball at the line but not like a running halfback, am happy with what he does and long may that continue

A lot of respected people in Rugby league including our own Lee Crooks agree with what i have said about Mark Sneyd so have you thought it may be you that has no idea?

We are all happy with Sneyd and what he does for the team but he could be so much better by taking the ball to the line and engaging defenders and thats what creates the space on the edges if the ball is moved quickly.
yes he may take an extra hit or two but to his credit the way he throws himself into defence at times shows he is not afraid of contact.

Sneyd for GB anyone ? Think he’d go really well behind our monster pack , I know I’d put him in front of a lot of current half’s up for selection , is kicking game is 2nd to none , and beside the right 6 (widdop?) could work very well

Sneyd would be great for England/GB alongside a 6 with a good running game (I'm thinking Lomax). His game just seems made for international rugby imo.

It's criminal that he's never been given a cap or included in a squad, even if just against a lesser opposition such as France.

The game has changed since the Schofield and the 80’s.Sneyd controls the game rather than being spectacular.Him alongside Williams or Lomax would be a good option for GB/England.Also think he would be a decent half in the NRL behind some of those monster forwards

Said it before but great business by the club to secure him for 3 more years given he was OOC with other suitors. If he'd gone I can't think of another realistic target to match him seeing that we're not in the marquee player game.

I'd been at work on a late shifts all week and didn't watch the Cas game until Saturday morning and whilst very impressed with our performance especially in the 2nd half I didn't feel the need to post on that thread just to repeat what had already been said or to satisfy you and your prerequisite posting amount and required statements.

We are paying a lot for Sneyd and Jones alike hence why we are trimming down the squad.
Sneyd knows his value and was after what he thought he was worth in the current climate.
Obviously the club have satisfied his demands.

On Sneyd I was pointing out great work by the club to keep him in the context that there are few match winners on the market. Of course we will have paid him well but if he'd been lured away my point was that there don't appear to be an embarrassment of half back riches in SL for us to try and replace him with. His stock is rising I would say since he signed.
