That's a good idea. Ablett at Leeds is a good example of this. Plenty of go forward and strong in defence.

I think the lad just needs a pat on the back and his confidence boosting not been slated by his coach same with miller and Rankin when both of them scored they was over the moon and really hyped up and then Radders goes and point the fingure at them for one or two back kicks I'd go with Horne and Thomson as on Thursday try something different

I think it's easy to forget how young he still is, and last year whilst he played really well I think he was bigged up too much by sky etc, because he's far from the finished product.

He's got bags of talent but he always seems a little mentally fragile imo, whereas you look at Tom Lineham and I don't think anything at all would phase him. I think he will feel a lot more comfortable having Lineham back too.

I think the lad is a good attacking centre but if he wants to play super league he has to defend better and make far fewer defensive errors. Anything else is flannel in my opinion and making excuses for players is a big reason why we never get any better. His progress in the future is entirely in his hands and I seriously hope he makes it but he has to be much better when his team don't have the ball.

Think it would be useful to put him out to Donny for a months loan and let cookie give him some confidence.

Can't see it being a confidence issue or he wouldn't be kicking goals from the touchline. Is he OOC this season? Maybe we have changed our defensive structures and he's taking time to adjust

i agree 100% with what you say.

Harsh IMO, Arundel was much worst dropping a few bombs and costing us two try's and there has been anywhere as much criticism. At least offers a great attacking threat and is kicking really well. I'd have Ellis on his side next week.

Although he has had a dip in form recently, changing position does not help confidence, also i think he needs time and direction as he is a good player
getting on his back will not do anything to boost his confidence,expecting young players to shine each week will need the help of senior players guidance.

Thompson has played the majority of games in his career in the backs with a decent strike rate.

both times he had a one on one with meli a few yards out, both times he backed off and left it too late to make the tackle. Nobody but Arundel fault for Meli first and last try

its funny how we all see things different, imo arundel did well to score and for there last try thought he had got meli into touch, hes not a winger and i would still like arundel to be given a run at centre, if you think we could have a backline of shaul binman crooks arundel linham rankin miller, all young quick and exiting, ok there defence would need working on but what a prospect,

maybe our pre season "scapegoats" are playing well..... thompson (why do we sign him)..feka (too old and past it) carvell..(injury prone) westerman..(big transfer)miller..(worst halfback weve had)..yeaman (not played well for years)..jason crookes (not played so cant slag him off)
so we have to have a new scapegoat.... ben crooks has a bad game goalkicking is off so we can use him until someone else plays badly

Carvell has been out injured for most of the season and Yeaman isn't playing well, so your list needs some editing. And nobody is criticising Crooks for his goalkicking.

If you really think Crooks is being scapegoated you might want to have a word with Radford.

I have a scapegoat and he goes into press conferences with a front tooth missing and rubs his face every 10 seconds.

I agree. Meli has made a living out of running over the top of other wingers. For me Arundels inside was far too slow to get across and help him out.

A scapegoat would be someone who is blamed for the teams performance, nobody is doing that with Crooks, I think we're all aware that the problems are deeper than one out of form player.

However people are rightly pointing out that his performances are well below the standard he set last year, nothing wrong with that, he'll be aware of that himself, just needs to get his confidence back, tighten up his defense and he'll be fine. He doesn't deserve any criticism for his goal kicking, it shouldn't be his job but he's the only one that put his hand up.

I don't think Ben Crooks has lost confidence.If he didn't have confidence he wouldn't be kicking goals,and getting better at it too.
Tackling is the issue for Ben and also Arundle.
if you look at how they tackle its more shirt pulling than tackling.
Given we have in Ellis one of the games best and powerfull body tacklers and both Horne and Yeaman are excellent around the legs,surely Radford should be getting these guys to improve the technique of them both.
Don't forget they are still very young and learning the game.
Its the job of the coach to work on a players weakness whilst utilising their attacking skills.
As its our right side which opposition teams are exploiting the simple thing to do is move Yeaman to right centre and Crooks to left centre.
Alternatively move Ellis to the right.
