Who'd be the next 8 to make up the 25 man squad? Horne, Whiting, Lineham and Crooks aren't bad squad players at all.

If you can get the Chase deal done, you'll be proper dark horses on a par with Catalans.

Loseing a raft of players and in Smith and Green...not a good half-back pairing and Wane will earn his corn next season as it will be the end of the team Madge built.

Not slating him, he's done a reasonable job this season but has also been in charge of some joke performances. Personally i think the team is being filled with too many young players and experience is being ignored and this could be our downfall as if we get a couple of injuries to these experienced players then we'll have a loads of youngsters running round like headless chickens. But only time will tell on that one

Your joking right....we have had a raft of injuries and have had to blood youngsters,who,thanks to the previous coach had no 1st team experience at all and was thrown in but they have performed well imo and bodes us well for the future.As for youngsters next season...everyone coming in are 1st team players with experience.

Agree, Lynch is fantastic and Watts really looks the part. But surely we need one prop with size/raw power/intimidating presence. Why sign Galea but release O'Meley, unless Galea is literally half the price.

As for Seymour, don't think it will be as easy to "move him on" as many people seem to just assume. His wages are apparently so high that no one else is likely to go near them. Maybe AP could pay him off, but AP clearly has his limits on "fair value" (and quite right too, it is his money), and he might not want to have to pay Seymour over £100k (for example) just to release him, and that on top of a sizeable transfer fee for his replacement.

Same, has looked good since he returned from injury.

Gentles obviously spending more money in more important areas.

Props a basic position and we need to make sure we have the right players at 1, 6, 7 and 9.

Ogre, Lynch, Watts and Taylor would be ideal for next season.

Watts isn't as powerful as I first thought.
Still do a good job for us.

Also think Ogre will be away, sadly.

Yep, play him at 13 with two powerful, hard-working props would be the best tactic IMO.

Playing him as a prop with a ball player-type 13, then you're asking a lot of your other prop.

This is my biggest 'gripe' if you like about the possible Galea deal. Unless we can't afford O Meley I would retain him and forget Galea. O Meley is still easily one of the best props in SL

Watts has really impressed me, he's such a big unit that he is always looking to give the offload out the top of the tackle.

Maybe galea is being signed to play 6?

I have to say that the recruitment is nowhere near as completed as I expected it to be by now. Seems some of our plans haven't worked out and we're still running around trying to fill the gaps in the squad

By 'signed' he must have meant 'agreed' in cases were permission hadn't been granted by the players' current clubs. If they change their mind or get a last minute offer that turns their head, then that could lead to a more 'fluid situation' - like catching a diarrhoea bug.


David Hodgson was rumoured to have come back and asked for more cash from Rovers than initially agreed, after getting a better offer elsewhere last year. Now the Bulls look safe, it is, slightly ironically, maybe a bit of a bear market for the clubs again.

The team could be anything as we don't know who has signed. Add Chase Nd Bateman and it looks good to me.

People say we have missed out on targets, who? The obly one I hear that isn't tied up is a proo and it's a possible reason why we might bring Galea in and move a backrow into prop.

We'll see.

After Hornes performance yesterday at fullback. No thankyou struggled to keep hold of the ball in the tackle, and will miss more than he plays next season. McDonnell at fullback sounds decent to me, speciallist at the job not a makeshift fullback like Horne.

Admittedly I haven't seen much of either layer, but Lineham looks better than Crookes inky opinion and I would be happy if he was our starting winger.
