They're all rubbish

Credit to the Leeds fans, they're on the case with demanding McDermott out and suggesting Noble in pretty quickly. So we now have Wigan, Huddersfield and probably Leeds all in the market for a coach. Cracking stuff.

What I still don`t get is players signing seem to be impressed by Agar.They don`t have to say so.Even Gleeson has said it.
Long in his book stated he was impressed by him.If he came here just for the cash he didn`t need to make that statement.
Of course another scenario could be,
Agar."Why do you want to come to Hull Martin?"
Gleeson. "My mate Longy is here."
Agar."Ah,o.k., sign here."

I have no concerns that we'll trump them all to the best available coach should we actually get round to binning agar

Kath - Gary, the Hull fans are screaming for Agar's head. I'm getting sick of it now. But if he goes we'll still have to pay him for the rest of the season and next.

It's all rhetoric like great fans, great stadium. they're hardly going to come out and say they signed for the club who offered them 4 grand a year more than the next highest bidder are they

No they are not going to say they came to the highest bidder,but they also arn`t obliged to say the things they do about Agar.Not defending it either way,just interested why it is so.
Lets be honest Jake,if Agar fed the crowd with three loaves and six fishes,you would still be unimpressed.

I wouldnt want any of the above to take us forward but i think noble is the best superleague coach (if he had a team to coach)

Agar must have something about him that doesn't come across in interviews etc. A mate of mine was talking to Craig Hall not long back and apparantly even he didn't really have a bad word to say about Agar, which, given how he seemed to be treated, surprised me a bit. From what I hear from various people who know a bit more about what goes on at the club Agar does seem very clued up about the game, who knows, it might just be that it's the players fault afterall.

Gleeson I'm sure must've turned down bigger offers due to our cap being almost full and others having space to be able to offer more. So there must be something else, possibly Longy, possibly he sees the potential of the squad we have now?

As for the rest, player X signs for new club and gets asked why. What is he going to say? Particularly when said coach is under pressure. Seems like the natural thing to say to immediately ingratiate yourself. What is more telling to me is that they all say it but there is no evidence agar actually knows what he's doing so either they're making it up or he talks a good story but doesn't back it up with his actions

If his UK choice was us or wakefield then it wasn't much of a choice was it? Can't see any aussie clubs offering him big money

A year at Wakey on a higher wage and put yourself in the shop window, would have been a stand out player in Wakey's squad and could have possibly got himself a good deal at another SL club for the following year, possibly even Widnes, this would have meant him being closer to home.

Like you say Jake, we never know the real reasons why people sign, yes the first is probably ££££ but there are sometimes other things that players take into consideration before deciding whether to sign for a club or not - was it Sinfield who said that some of The Leeds squad could get better contracts elsewhere but wanted to stay to be part of a winning squad?

18 or so games at wakey, in front of pitiful crowds, in the worst stadium in SL, getting beat most weeks and spending most of that time looking for another club. Sounds appealing
