| Assuming Ellis moves to prop we only have 2 good enough to push for a top 6 finish next year in Pritchard and Mini imo.
Hadley isn't good enough, he's been given a lot of game time under Radford and doesn't offer anything for me.
Whiting as good as he's been for us over the years is coming to the end.
Yeaman will still be playing next year.
Thompson has had his best games for us at prop. Watts and Ellis starting with Taylor and Thompson off the bench.
I can see us lining up like
Shaul
Talanoa
Carlos
Yeaman
Fonua
Pryce
Sneyd
Ellis
Houghton
Watts
Pritchard
Mini
Westerman
Washbrook (interchange 9)
Taylor
Thompson
New 2ndrow

| Far too much salary tied up in the backrow, needs to be a better balance.
You don't need 3 class backrowers, look at other top clubs they have players like Flanagan, Atchurch etc, Whiting is as good as them if not better.

| Agree we need to look at hooker. But if we signed a backrower of a decent standard I wouldnt complain to be honest. Hed need to be a good un though. Not just a grafter. Its right what it says. We've missed ellis enormously each time. Hes off to prop so that leaves pritchard n mini. We have cover yes. But next in line is way behind in standard. Plus pritchard be much more effective being spelled. Mini too for that matter.
I look down the league and every top team is massivly relient on 2nd row strike.

| I'd imagine the likes of Whiting, Hadley and Turgut will be amongst the lowest earners at the club.
The top teams do have 3 very good 2nd rowers.
Leeds- JJB, Ablett, Delaney
Saints- Vea, Wilkin, Greenwood
Wigan- Farrel, Tomkins, Bateman
Hudds- Ferres, Hughes, Wardle

Agree.
I'm not saying we should get another Pritchard but we need another 2nd row. We lose way to much when Ellis and/or Mini go off and Whiting/Hadley come on.

| Backrow is probably our strongest position in the squad. I really don't see we need another backrower, unless one is leaving.
I would be interested to know what is happening with the three-quarters. We know Lineham is leaving and strongly suspect Sa is too. We've signed Carlos and Fonua is looking likely but it doesn't look like we will be signing anyone else. Does this mean Michaels is staying? This would give us
Talanoa
Lancaster
Logan
Naughton (who will presumably cover at full back too)
Carlos
Fonua
Michaels?
Yeaman?

| Whiting should be playing every game. Vastly under rated. We dont need a nother back rower if Washys coming back imo. We need another hooker

I don't think it's playing too deep (often not deep enough IMO), it's that a lot of our players don't run onto the ball hard enough.

Looks like Fonua and a second rower joing Washbrook, Tuimavave, Taylor and Pritchard.'"
That piece again reminds me of the Peter Sharp days.

We have Mini, Pritchard, Westy and whiting.
Plus Ellis if out young props step up, that's as good as the ones named IMO.
I suppose the good thing about not signing another outside back is more chances for Logan, Lancaster and Naughton.
If we are to sign another forward it should be a youngish one who can long term replace the likes of Mini, Ellis and Whiting.

| We desperately need a centre so we sign a winger, a stand off and a load of forwards.
So much for having better recruitment.

| Difficult for the club to recruit a hooker as he knows most weeks he won't play.
The club have done the right thing in signing a utility player to cover hooker, but IMO have signed the wrong player, someone like Godinet would have been better.
Should Houghton get injured we are in trouble and we need a new or loan signing.

| Dont think we need any more 2nd rowers as we have plenty of possible 2nd liners particulary whiting and turgut who we should be giving plenty of gametime in the 8's. at a push we could use westerman in th2nd row with Jordan Abdul at losse forward. Very important in the 8's to give some of youngsters a chance. If we dont it would be a waste of time and money to have a 19'2 squad.

| all I can think is that we have players moving out...such as westy who has had a whisper going around about he heading out for a while now. doesn't seem to go away.
personally id be surprised to see ellis play for us again, which I said from when he hit the deck. whiting will be a bit part player imo, filling in where ever we have to cover. michaels will likely get another year as will yeaman.

| turgut and Hadley imo are just not big enough, good squad players but that's all atm, whiting always good to have in your squad but he isn't a strike running second rower, maybe Radford knows more than us about whos coming and going and also about ellis injury

I thought the same thing. There has to be at least a chance that Ellis won't play again or won't be the same player and there has been a persistent rumour about Westy. Heard it was Leeds at the Wigan game. Then you wonder whether the player alluded to by Radders ( playing for a SL club in the middle 8's ) is one of his "mates"/someone he played with and has become available or is this when Washbrook is announced? He's a second row and the club haven't mentioned him yet despite everyone else saying he's a done deal , he's playing in the middle 8's , future unsecure etc etc. Washbrook instead of a centre rather than Washbrook plus a second row instead of a centre?
