This seems the most likely, if we get rid of Radford before somebody else is lined up what are we left with? Last and Horne?

God help us where Last is concerned because I really don't think it's a coincidence that he was also Agar's assistant and we played poorly then too. Horne needs to earn his stripes with the U19's. As I said on another thread they won again today. Top of their league which is very promising both on the playing front and the coaching front.

| It's difficult to comprehend really what's going on with your lot. It is clear that the players are either genuinely confused by LR's tactics or lack of or they are just not interested in playing for him. I don't watch you enough to know what the definitive answer is. One thing stood out for me though, and even if the players do not understand the tactics/game plan they should still be encouraged or should even want to try something different, run a little bit harder or try a little kick through. Players like rankin, pryce and shaul should be able to at least try something and for me the spark was just never there. You made metres fairly well, just looked scared to go out and play rugby.

| Quote ="Mr. Zucchini Head"There's two ways to look at it for me. Either he genuinely believes what Radford is telling him about the players effort and thinks one lucky win might start us on a run. If that's the case then he obviously doesn't know very much about the game and how it's played, because if he did he would be able to see for himself what is so painfully obvious to most of us who do know a thing or two.
The second possibility is that he knows he's made a mistake, but after sacking Gentle and backing Radford to the point where he has effectively said he won't be sacked no matter what, he is too stubborn to backtrack and admit his mistakes.
There's also a third option which is that he wants to act but doesn't think he can afford to after all the other recent expenses. I don't think this is likely though. He must realise that if he doesn't act in order to save money now it will only sting him worse in the future.'"
i think the last is pretty plausible. It's not so much that his heels are dug in, but that his pockets are almost empty. Wilf mentioned in his diary about people leaving the club on the commercial/community side and not being replaced, a week or two ago.
It might be most cost-effective to replace the coach, but if it's not affordable it's not an option. His pre-emotive clarity on Radford staying come what may, would perhaps make more sense too.
I dunno, but I do wonder.

This. For me, whilst Rovers played well they didn't exactly blow us away like Leeds did a few weeks ago. We got down their end of the field easily enough and then just... fell to pieces. Rovers defended what we threw at them very well but we just didn't look at all threatening.

Maybe. But we had a fans forum earlier in the week though in which he said we're on course to break even and appoint a CEO which contradicts the money thing somewhat.
Sigh, I just don't know what to make of things any more...

| Total apathy from the players. They have no fire or passion for the Club. No one shouting, congratulating. The body language alone shows they don't care .
Just watch the togetherness of both Wigan and Saints at the moment.
Yet another year with no leader. A rudderless ship .

| I didn't believe that we could play as badly as we did yesterday. For me it was another step down from what I thought was the bottom. And in a derby as well. We need a new coach and some new players. In terms of the players I'd start at hooker and clear all three of the current crop out.

Striking difference. Celebrating knock-ons by the other side like a cup win. Great to see.

Agree, Houghton is the most overrated player in SL. His distribution is quite frankly appalling.

| Quote ="WIZEB"Totally inept and don't really know where we go from here.
If we'd had our captain and expensive scrum half on the park ( not convinced at all by him) you just know it wouldn't have made the slightest bit of difference.
Felt for Mini and Micky P, at least they showed some endeavour.
Not convinced about Shaul at full back. He's a kid I suppose, and learning the trade.
Biggest bugbear for me is Houghton. I know he can tackle but I'm sick of fooking seeing him tackle. In offence his decision making in which side of the line to attack is woeful. Not that we'd do any good if he occasionally went the right way I suppose.
Stephen Kearney.
Craig Fitzgibbon.
Peter Sharp.
I'd bite your hand off for any of the 3 of them at present.
But they've all done their penance at our club.'"
Agree about Houghton , We have our own Malcom Alker , He can rack up the tackles but can do f**k all else . Why does he not read the play. Again last night he went blind side with only one man to pass to , Yet there was 5 rovers defenders in front of him .

Have to agree. Makes 1000 tackles a season but offers little in offence.
I don't see much leadership from him either.

| Absolutely Pathetic!
I've followed Hull for forty years and couldn't believe what I was seeing last night.
Passing: Very poor. At school we were taught to pass at waist height just in front of the person so they could run on to the ball. Last night we were passing the ball at head height, or passing behind the man, (or at the man) that they had to remian static.
5th Tackle: I'd love to see the Hull FC/Doncaster Play Book for fifth tackles? Our first set last night, in the Rovers 20m, we failed to attempt any last tackle move. Later on in the game, again in the Rovers 20m - there was a delay due to an injury, on teh restart (last tackle) we drove it in for a handover to Rovers. Who is calling the shots. In my school rugby (union) team, we had over 40 plays, every player knew every move, where they had to be etc. In a match, our stand off (or captain) would call the move. If they went off, or were in the ruck, someone else would call the next move. It was drilled into us. That is when I was a 14 year old school boy who tarined 2.5 hours a week.
Kicking: Actually better than recent years last night. We actually made the ball bounce as opposed to sending it straight to the full back or winger. However, other than targeting their suspect winger twice, their was no real pressure exerted.
Line Breaks: If there was one, I missed it.
Attack: I'm normally the most optimistic of fans, however mid way through the 2nd half last night, I made the comment that even if we had the whole of the Doncaster side on our side, we still wouldn't score.
We have a squad on the maximum salary cap. They play in summer, on excellent pitches, with a modern, grippable ball (not like the old soap bars we had at school). They are full time professionals and probbly train 10-20 hours per week. This is not good enough. However, the buck stops completely with the Coach.
He'll site the quick turnaround, but Rovers also palyed last Friday. I know the game is faster these days (now played by full time professionals, but I remember Hull playing Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday in the early 80's (seem to remember Steve Evans scored two hat tricks in two days - without to many aches and pains)
Radford will also site injuries, well as has been mentioned previously, these are part and parcel of the game.
Unfortunately, what he won't site is that he is clueless. Lee Radford was a good player, but as a Coach has become an embarrassment!
Time to go Lee. Now!

| Don't think it's been mentioned (and can't be @rsed to read thread) but big raps to hull fans in the East stand on Thursday for their chants regarding young Rovers fan Connor Lynes. Shows even in the heat of a derby battle that the rugby league family can come together.

| I know i am adding more of the same as already written, I feel just as damaged by all of this as you all do i know
I came over to watch an Easter of Football hoping that i would see some passion, guts, maybe even the will to want to crack a few heads in the derby game, oh my how wrong was I ???
I can honestly say in all the years I have followed the club that was up there with the worst, i am not taking anything away from HKR because they looked a well oiled machine and did everything well and deserved the win ...
Something made me really sad during the game and it was this, we were sat behind a family who had a fellow over from Holland who had never seen an RL game who thought it was awesome to watch , however he said something at half time to the chap i got talking to he said "wow what a match , these guys in red are so on the money, are they top of the league?"
That to me said it all, we made HKR look like league leaders they were were so much better than we are..
i have only watched a hand full of games this season and can only say it as i see it and here is how i see it
Jamie Shaul: Looked tired and not at the races for me, where was his usual support play??
Tom Lineham: did all he could but had nothing to work with
Steve Michaels: dont get the hype, he looks lightweight, one dimensional
Jack Logan: tons of effort but not ever going to be anything other than run of the mill, why did we let Crooks go again??
Fetuli Talanoa: he will be having nightmares now about the amount of high ball he is going to get for the rest of this season , he will get bombed to pieces every match now
Leon Pryce: did enough but nothing special sadly
Jordan Rankin: never a half as long as my balls hang south
Mickey Paea: worked hard but 99 times out of a hundred is stood still when he gets the ball
Danny Houghton: have we seen the best of him come and go already??
Liam Watts: Donkey, simple as
Dean Hadley: same as watts just so ordinary
Mark Minichiello: thank god we had one man on the pitch with passion
Joe Westerman: like Houghton have we seen the best of him already
Josh Bowden: watts again , a big lump nothing else
Iafeta Paleaaesina: why when we have a wrecking ball like Feka dont we start him from twenty yards back , instead we pass him the ball when he is pricking around with his socks FFS, why does he always slow down before impact too ??
Jordan Thompson: his quietest game so far
James Cunningham: pointless bench spot
Lee Radford : sorry Lee, you are so very inexperienced and it shows truly awfully mate.. this has walsh written all over it mate
You kiss the asses of the senior players and bully the juniors... big man , tough man but poor coach im afraid.. if you are black and white like you say then step down and give our chairman the chance to avoid his sword and get a new coach before its too late, if you stay we are doomed .
The rovers fans were right , you should be fired on Monday, if we loose badly at Saints i still believe you may!!
I would never advocate sacking anyone but in pro sport you are results based and your results are shocking at best
