I'd say 2003/4 definitely superior, 2005 not so much. The rot had already started to set in by then in terms of recruitment and retention. And coaching, for that matter.

2003/4 was definitely our peak as far as the quality of our squad. Think we have gradually gone backwards since then but had enough quality and leadership left to win the CC in 2005. The 2009 squad for me is the dullest and most ordinary squad we've had for a while and the only squad that I can remember that hasn't got a leader of any kind of indeed a captain.

Can't argue with any of that TBH.

Such was our embarrassment of attacking riches in 2005, "Turnstile" Tom Saxton made 25 appearances for us. A golden era of outside back excellence if ever there was one.

BY having the extra prop on the bench it means you have more scope to experiment with the number of mintues Moa can play and by alternating him, King and Thacks it means we can the impact as high as possible and allow Maloney and Dowes to be the workhorses.

Anyway as you were.

But as already mentioned, that would take some imagination and foresight from our coaches. Enough said !!

Can see where you're coming from Paul but Berrigan isn't the answer at 7. He played half back for much of last season with Washbrook and we had the third worst attack in the league.

Part of the problem is our Second Rows and Centres standing still constantly. They need to be moving off the ball before any sort of Half Back gets to this club.

Whilst we have Lee and Houghton in good form and Motu returning why not select from them for the Hooker role and play Berrigan in another position he represented Australia in, Centre. Watch the ball get moved out then!
