He doesn’t have these ‘contacts’ anymore, he’s just a run of the mill standard British coach, but sky constantly churn out the narrative that he’s ‘got loads of mates in oz’ ‘he’ll be the one to turn it around’

Don’t wanna go all in but the man that turned rovers around the first time was Paul Lakin did it that well a premier league team picked him up, fast forward 15 years he’s doing it again, it’s no coincidence

Think Smith has the next two games and has to win one of them, but I don't think we will, I think we will have a battling defeat next week, fans happy with the effort etc (which is getting really boring), then battered in the derby the week after.

Think Pearson has 3 choices,

Backs Smith, gives him some money to bring players in (pay off Carlos, brings in a 7) and tries to sign a domestic centre.
Sacks Smith and brings in someone like Wane, give him 2 years to sort out the culture, but task him with finding a replacement like he did at Wigan with Peat.
He puts the club up for sale.

If he doesn't do one of these things, think we are in big trouble next year, pass sales down, we will start to lose the like of Staveley and Martin, constant decline and could see the club heading the way of Bradford.

I've defended Pearson and he has gone some very good things, but he has just about lost all of the good will.

I think as soon as you give a coach an ultimatum of, you need to win x amount of games the writing is already on the wall.

I just don't see how Smith can turn anything around in the next few weeks

our defense, its the weakest I can remember. Smith keeps talking about a new technique he's trying to use. We don't control the ruck and our first contact is so poor. Then we have a non existent attack.

100%, we have a poor squad, but he team selections and bench use has been poor.

Im sorry but that is a load of rubbish and you know it, everything Rovers are doing now was started by TS. Rovers fans including my wife were devastated when he left but he gave them a real healthy foundation an they ran with it, it was little over 2 seasons ago he them 1 game away from the Grand final and he along with smart owners turned the club around from a club that was on its knees to a club that is now thriving. Unfortunatley the latter point around smart owners is where we fall short, i don't for one minute doubt AP's love of the club but hes just clueless, he had a fantastic opportunity to build on a real period of success for the club and he didn't, he sacked Radford after a dire start to the season and since then its been a nosedive off a cliff. We need new owners and quick otherwise i genuinely don't know where this club goes.

I always liked Gentle. I was so disappointed with how his tenure ended because I felt that we were on the right track with him. He seemed to have a plan in mind for every game based on who we were playing. It didn't always work but when does it with us? I always felt he was a smart coach.
