| If anyone thinks Cellinio is going to pass any powers whatsoever to AP then they are deluded. The guy is a control freak and will drive AP out of the job in six months, unless of course there is another play going on here. I doubt AP has the money to sort the mess at Elland Road out on his own, but with the right backing that could be the end game. Given the ban that Cellinio has just had and that he is being investigated again in Italy I wouldn't be at all surprised if he is lining something up to sell the club.
Can he also continue at FC owner? I see no problem with that but expect someone new at the helm in a CEO role in due course.

Yes, that's right. He has these bastions of the business world to run the club for him. www.hullfc.com/page.aspx?p=1208
Explains why we have debacles like the ridiculous LR interview on RH last week.
I can't honestly tell if you were being ironic with your "few meetings and phone calls" comment. If you were being serious it explains why the club persists with the kind of cut-price, bargain basement staff and management strategy it does.

Cash is king.
Here's a scenario for you. AP is low on cash and budgets for gates of 10k. Gates are lower than 10k. If people leave, you don't replace them but try and get by to make up the income shortfall, or sell your most marketable assets. Quite why people can't grasp these basics but further suggest paying off Radford and recruiting 1-2 top coaches on top, whilst imagining staying away will improve rather than worsen the situation, I have no idea.

Your friend Seb says we can't pay the players and are stealing from the 150 year fund to make ends meet. It's a reasonable punt. And saying that fans staying away will hurt the club financially is not idle speculation.

I was only reporting what id been told. And your scare mongering is becoming quite nauseating. Its a 50/50 relationship this with club/fans and currently the fans have over supported a e club for years but are now deciding enough is enough due to the club not fulfilling their 50% of the equation

| Back on Pearson - whatever the reasons for him going to Leeds nobody knows but imo him taking the job just hammers another nail into the coffin of the stay aways/ had enoughs, thinking about giving it ups - it basically looks like he cant be d so lots of fans will look at it and think why should they too.
Best thing that can happen short term is he sells or we'll stagnate and go even further backwards than we already have.

Hilarious. You post that the club hasn't paid the players and is raiding the 150 events fund and say I'm scaremongering. But maintain AP should conjure up the cash from thin air to pay off Radford and upgrade. Have a word.

My post was in response to someone claiming being the CEO's role was limited to attending a few meetings, so the Radford issue is moot on this occasion.
I fully agree that cash is king. Which makes it all the more unvbelieveable that since Tony Sutton left there has been no-one with a finacial background amongst the directors.
Also if the money had been invested in doing due dilligence, particularly with regard to taking the pulse of the fans opinion AP would have realised beforehand that appointing LR would most probably have led to unattractive rugby, poor results, fan disquiet and falling gates.

Said like a blue blood Tory, you really have no idea how to make a business work successfully do you? EPIC FAIL
The fact is AP has failed at the most basic of levels in running a business, he's failed to run the organisation in the manner it should be. He should have done a top to toe shake down, installed the right people, kept those that could, got rid of those that can't (Rule should have stayed for a while longer for me). Look at investing in a way that doesn't shout tight-wad penny pincher, the good investments he has put in have actually being just that, investments, some of which will actually rise in value.
The pay-offs he's had to make are partly because he didn't do his job properly and didn't get the right people in, if you think he wasn't aware of certain things going on then you damn Pearson for what he really is.
A 2 bit Arthur Daley 2nd hand car salesman. Spend a bit here, cut a bit there, make do and mend, huff and puff when you've being found out, never admit you're wrong then try flogging a dead horse after you've banged on about how much money you've lost on the deal when the punter starts to walk away and then blame anyone but yourself for why it's knackered
What we need is a strong CEO, someone to make sure the 'directors' know what they are supposed to be doing, they have limited experience within industry, one of them hasn't worked anywhere else but the KC, and none of them are individual leaders, they are directors in name only, nothing more.
We also do not need a 'rugby man', that's not the priority, we have a director of rugby (of sorts) already, if they have had dealings within rugby great, BUT more than anything else they need a background of hands on management of a large operation, someone prepared to face up to an owner and tell them they're wrong over certain things. I don't want a yes man in charge.
A strong CEO ensures stupid things like the Shaul incident never even get to the point where a coach whom is unable to express himself in the manner one would expect to the media gets to sit in the chair without at least being prepared what to say and what not to say instead of sounding like a thug and completely idiotic. Our so called communications director failed massively on that as on previous rantings our coach has provided.
A CEO stops dodgy deals being done (if indeed there were any), it's his job to ensure VFM, not cutting back but ensuring an investment is worth what we are paying, property, player or otherwise. If he doesn't know the value of players it's his job to find out and if that figure s justified, follow recommendation's, garner advice not just from within the club but from external sources also.
Sadly, AP failed to employ a strong CEO from the off, THAT is a massive failure, THAT has cost us and him dearly many many times over what it would have cost him up front. But you can't see that can you?
I really hope AP sells us, tbh if he's here more than 12 months I'd be surprised.

Surely just a job title though? With a bit of autonomy, but ultimately not completely alone, and responsible to the owner ?

| I did say 'a while longer', a transition period until someone new was put in place. for all Rules failings he also did a very good job under extreme circumstances under the Hetherington's. Could have being better but he was never given full reign in any case.

| Agree with most of what you say Knockers but i think we need a rugby man as an owner - i dont know where one will come from but in an ideal world thats what will awaken FC imo. For all his faults we want an FC Hudgell and if we had one we'd love him far more than Pearson as he'd have passion in his blood for the club.
Whilst Pearson owns FC our club will only go backwards and its already shocking - any further and we will be the next Bradford. The total mess the clubs in will take years to sort out but the first thing that needs to happen is it becomes part of the community again - at the moment its just this entity that plays in a ground that its not wanted in - we need a new owner and leadership, directors, coaches and a completely new and fresh impetus at getting this club to being a club that its fans are proud of again - something not many of are any more
