Next week he has to be on the wing, unless Phelps is injured, then either Sharp stays or we bring in Lyne?'"
We missed Whiting? In what sense exactly. His pace, the way he gets stood up by opposition centres, his positional play at FB. Whiting has been poor all year and his performance against Saints (cost us a win) and Widnes (numerous missed tackles) typified this. Another over rated player who has gone backwards since Agar got hold.

| feel sorry for sharp gets knocked all the time as said by others he is left exposed . 1st try was a country mile forward 2nd resulted as we had just got some go forward and had hudds rocking till we spilt the ball on the 1st tackle trying to be fancy . 3rd fair enough could of done better so at fault for that . and when brough scored resulted from a forced pass turner dropped and had to turn and chase . collectively the team self descructed by not respecting the ball not one player alone

Very true, just pointing out that Sharp was not the only one.
Good to hear Whiting's wife and baby are home.

| did't sharp get player of the year, supporters player of the year at harlequins last year, in a poor team! His defence can't of been to bad ! i think Agar can turn the best player in the world into a poor player, just my opinion, but the best winger in the world would be poor defensively on our right wing!!!

This, all day long. But hey lets just go with the trend of blaming Sharp for everything that goes wrong. And forgetting other players throwing stupid passes and dropping easy balls to give the opposition easy field and possession.'"
If anyone had watched Huddersfield (and tbh other sides) prior to the game they would see that Brough and Brown throw long cut out passes that will leave a side with an inability to slide the defence effectively in all sorts of bother.
Their tactics on Sunday were spot on and they wreaked havoc. Yes Sharp has a weakness but he is being hung out to dry by our shocking tactics. Even I could see the long passes coming, yet our defence was almost rooted to the spot, watching the ball. Surely the game plan involved an element of preparation for long passes exploiting the compressed defensive line???

Still Sharp's fault. He needs to make himself heard and shout for people to get across if he is on his own.
But he doesn't have much of a presence in the team as he should in order to get people across to help him.
I feel like his performances are being questioned too often, something needs to be done about it...

Maybe if he shouts really loud the attacker will drop the ball?
Nothing to with shouting to get people across. If the ball is already there Usain Bolt would struggle to get across to help him.
It's a fundamental tactical problem I'm afraid. The defensive line is too narrow, leaving both wings exposed at times. As I said Sharp has his weaknesses in defence and in my view this is just showing up the tactical problem more than before. Agar/Webster/Last need to address this now.

It seems to be a common trend to slate the winger who is not from Hull (backlock, Sing, Calderwood...) by those who clearly have no idea how the game is played.
Sharp clearly is not without fault and yes he makes errors in most games. But he also does a fair amount of work which some choose to ignore.
FWIW, The reason Huddersfield beat us was our inability to pass (Obst and Westerman were key offenders with notables efforts from Gleeson), our inability to catch (Gleeson, tickle, dowes, Yeaman, Briscoe and Sharp. Not forgetting Turner who had the easiest of all to take which actually would have put us in front) and the fact that Hudds have a player who has the best kicking game, has a good passing game and is also very nippy who in our wisdom we released because we had a weak coach at the time.
Of course some will simply blame Will Sharp.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but judging by your stunning ignorance and lack of appreciation of how the game is played, I think you should be stripped of the right to any view point.
With regard to your comments on Hall, you emphesis my first point.

Very true. Add to that a lack of pace in the middle and at times tactical naivety that school kids would be embarrassed by and it is clear why we are fighting for 8th spot. After watching the game on Sky it was clear that Sharp was no worse than the rest of our right side though at the game he looked to have had a nightmare. I don't think he's good enough regardless of that but what's worse is our inability to fix that right side up regardless of who plays there.

| what i don't get is, when sharp comes inside to close gap between wing and centre, sharp gets blamed, also, when he stays on his wing he gets blamed.
quick to jump on his back when makes a mistake, but then when he took a few high bombs well, takes a tricky ball in his own in-goal and works hard in offence, they don't/won't praise him!!!!
alot of Hull fans annoying me at the moment, not putting their brains into gear befoe speaking.

| We should just keep behind Sharpy, he's only young and he needs our support. We brought him here because he was outstanding at Quins. His development can be severely effected by the crowd reacting in the wrong way.
We are quite good at jeering a player when they've had a bad run and so draining their confidence, when really they need to know we are with them. Just Ask Motu Tony! If a player of international standing can lose his game confidence, then so can a young lad new to the club. So lets make him, not ruin him.
As long as he wears black and white he gets my support, if he's not delivering then the coach will deal with it.

People are having a go about Sharp on here because theyve had time to think about the game. I never heard anyone actually slagging him off at the game though.
