Thats what i thought. Therefore it should follow that it rests on the coaches shoulders if the squad fails. He should also get due praise if they suceed aswell.

We've had debates on here for god knows how long about what success is. Lots of people for example class last year as a success because it was an improvement from a league position point of view.

For me, success for a club of Hulls infrastructure means trophies.

There's 4 or 5 tiers of success for me.

Tier 1 - achieve a franchise as minimum
Tier 2 - maintain a franchise as minimum
Tier 3 - perform well on the pitch
Tier 4 - Have lots of good results and finish top 4
Tier 5 - win trophies

Most on this forum would drop tier 3 as they dont see performances as important like i do. We havent yet imo satisfied tier 3. I'd be happy with tier 4 as an improvement. Agree that tier 5 should be an ultimate aim but it's a big ask to jump from 2-5.

Tiers 1 and 2 are a given for Hull. Given the time that Agar has had to build his squad he should have confidence in his charges to achieve tier 3. If tier 3 is achieved then tier 4 could well be missed out.
Such is the size of your club i believe that your fans would still moan with a top 4 finish unless it culminated in an Old Trafford appearance.

But instead of betting for cash why not make it fun like BB suggested and also something that may be more embarrassing for either party. £100 may not be much to you but seeing you suck up to Agar would be absolutely priceless!!

He has major issues with Agar and where the board is taking the club, he believes this will be reflected in our final position at the end of the season....I believe he is wrong, so if he loses the bet he would then have to go to the forum and instead of complaining like he has in the past he then has to acknowledge Agar and the board are going in the right direction. If I lose I will go and raise the issues....This is no joke.

There is no issue with him constantly complaining about Agar & Co, but if they do go in the right direction (which I feel they personally did last season, still a long way to go though) surely he will want to congratulation them and admit he was wrong!

I don't think anyone was expecting us to go from 12th to Champions in one fell swoop. As you say, there are some deep rooted problems which need addressing before we can legitimately put together a serious consistent tilt at honours. The problem that some of us have is that we don't believe in the current coach, we don't believe that he is capable of delivering that success no matter what squad is assembled.

He isn't the only factor, but he is a factor. One of the issues which needs to alter before we can begin to challenge the game's elite.

I think you are missing my point mate! I am simply asking people if you replaced Agar with Potter (for example) would he get far more out of the current squad ie do you think the Hull squad is under performing and is a top 4 squad.
