| Quote ="Mrs Barista"The thing I don't really get about people not renewing is the argument that they'll get a better deal going away. A pass works out cheaper per game than going away but also our home form was pretty impressive this year IMO. Apart from the stuffing by Wigan, we lost bravely to Warrington, narrowly to Leeds with 12 men and won all our other games IIRC, including some cracking games v Saints and Rovers, a last gasp win v Crusaders and some decent scores against Cas and Salford (as you'd expect). Given it works out cheaper to go home than away with a pass, not sure why the appetite is greater for away games as our away form has been poorer than home this season by some margin.'"
Got to agree with you there Mrs B...our home form was very good, although people complain about our style of rugby they appear to have forgotten some of the games you mentioned which were very entertaining imo.

| I'll renew anyway, but am guessing we will not be breaking anymore records.
The main thing that vexes me is the £2 charge if you want to use your debit card. What a joke. Will they even accept cheques, if they don't, methinks it's argument time!

The charge is probably levied by the SMC. Let's say Hull sell 9000 passes, that's potentially £18k cost to the club. If there is a cost associated with processing the card payments then it's not unreasonable to pay it as the fees won't be part of the pricing of the passes. I was recently charged 2 1/2% fee for booking a holiday on my credit card.

Well I'm afraid you make it wrong. City have 23 home games this season rather than the 19 they had in the premiership. £499 over 23 games is £21.70

| I think it's all a rip off, after forking out and being bored for the last god knows how many seasons, I shall not be renewing . I'll pay the ridiculous walk up prices for the odd game. The board take the p£ss for me, taxing their overly loyal support.

The sale of the season pass is a transaction between Hull FC and the customer, nothing to do with the SMC. £10 per Direct Debit is simply excessive, I can understand a minimal charge for setting up the Direct Debit but not £40 for a family of 4.

As I said during the season if people are now complaining about the style of rugby then it's the best possible indication that progress was made compared to the previous 2 years. Our home form was transformed last year (and needed to be) and we did score some decent tries at home. I've been watching Hull a long time now and over the years there's been good years and (many) bad years in terms of entertainment levels on the pitch. Next year is a big year because it will be harder to progress as much and will need a more expansive style to achieve it and the coach must deliver that to survive IMO.
For me personally watching Hull isn't like watching any old TV program which I can switch off if I don't find it entertaining. That's not an option as I have to be there to support my team and travel a long way at great expense to do so. I'm glad that the passes offer good value and will be renewing mine shortly.

That's how we feel. It's not about what's classed as entertaining for us, it's as simple as us not being able to imagine not cheering the lads on regardless.

Good post couldn't have put it better myself.
Got to admit I have reservations about next season purley because of our h/backs situation, or lack of it (but praying I am wrong )...but I will still turn up, cheer the lads, come on here and moan etc, part and parcel of it all

The sales of the passes is done through the SMC ticketing department and I assume the club pay for those services

The sale of a season pass is made via the SMC, not directly with the club!!
I don't mind the charge, there's no such thing as interest free anymore. it normally carries a charge!!

£10 per transaction, fine, £10 per pass is garbage.
And they are selling you something you wont use for another 5 months.

I'm not sure if it works the same way but this season at Goodison for season tickets bought via direct debit there was an additional £20 charge but it wasn't something the club just decided to do the direct debit company applied these charges to process, admin fees as they always call it so maybe it's not the club before you go up in arms.

I am not "up in arms", I know what it costs to set up a DD, it's 47p, even with the most expensive high street bank, there is no excuse for £10 per DD.
And for 3 payments, it's almost 7% of each payment, even the Dick Turpin Waulddy's charged a little less than that!

Its exploitive to the extreme. And in today's financial climate, they should be looking to find a better way around.
How about freezing pass prices for people that pay in full, and charging the extra for DD payments. As you said as well, not like we have anything for our cash until feb.

It is excessive I agree, I did for the football too but luckily I didn't have to pay DD for mine but as I said it's probably not the clubs fault the company putting the capital forward to secure the passes are, more than likely, adding this on as admin fees. I think it's them you should be aiming your posts at.

Well if it's finance and underwritten by a bank then its a damn site more than 47p. It's a finance charge simple as that!! If you don't want to pay an extra £10 then pay the £230 in full... Simples

Although i agree ten quid is excessive, its not an additional ten pound per payment is it? So more like 3.33 per payment if you want to split it down that way.;

The £10 charge is per pass, not per DD. For a family of four that is £40 yet only one DD is set up, how is that fair??
I think you could also be a little more sympathetic for those people who HAVE to use the DD system as otherwise they can't afford their passes. If the club are trying their best to alienate prospective pass holders then they are going the right way about it.

I'm not missing the point Karen, i just don't actually think it's the problem that everyone is making it out to be.. they could quite easily charge you interest on the passes for spreading the cost...
How about 5% or 10% per transaction??
It's a fact of life, you pay for the priviledge of credit.. giving away free money is the reason this country is finacially on it's ar5e..
And for the record, i've paid for my pass monthly aswell as i don't have the funds for £230 in one go!!

It manifestly isn't fair and I'm struggling to see how it can be justified. Something for FC Voices to challenge?
