I agree with you Paul, i do believe that we have a top quality 7 lined up for next year and Thorman was the best around who was available to come on a one year deal, lets hopwe we do sign a top 7 for next season.

Have to agree Paul, I've been saying we needed a 7 since we left the Boulevard and we haven't gone for anyone, not Agar's fault.

I am sure we will move for a 7 if one becomes available.

A top scrum half would be brilliant, but what would be just as nice is more players making runs into gaps, even if it's dummy runners.
Most of our players just watch what Thorman and Horne are doing and just wait for the ball to be passed to them. Why not give them options and run decent lines. Instead of our two set plays.....

Drop off and run back into the sqaure markers or Horney use Tickle as a dummy runner and pass it behind him to his centre. Or if we are been a little cheeky, Tickle as a dummy runner but give it to him on the short!

You're right. We seemed to be working harder off the ball earlier in the season but that area of the game, together with defensive line speed, appears to have taken a backward step in the last two games.

Our timing has been all wrong in the last 2 games. Players are over-running the ball so the pass isn't on and even when they dont over-run it the pass is too slow and behind them. Thorman/Horne often get caught with ball because the defense has moved up and our "runners" are not deep enough.

Think people are being harsh about Thorman, thought he did Ok, his long range kicking was fantastic.

Though Thorman created and played better than Horne, but nobody has started a thread about him.

I dont think he is the long answer, but is going a decent job at SH for us. We are still in a better position than most expected.

Quins wern't much better than us, they just took there chances, and for me they the big different was the 40/20, we gave them the field position to score the winning try.

Thorman, and for that matter Calderwood, are suffering a bit because some fans had already decided they were cr@p before the first game. So when the team plays cr@p they cop it even though there were players who played far worse.

I think we have already made moves for one for 2010, hopefully we will be on the ball with this signing.

With the correct tactics Thorman and Horne can take us a long way this season.

Disagree. Thorman has the ability to throw it wide, keep it tight and vary his kicking game. He is not at fault for our boring 5 drives and a kick. He is fantastic at executing a game plan, he just keeps getting given the wrong one.

Disagree there Paul.......how about a genuine ball handling 13,Washy or Whiting instead of this Aussie bolloxs and playing 3 2nd rowers.

I kow you like your old fashioned 13, I do to in some ways. The fact is Horne and Thorman are not SH's, they can do a job there especially Thorman but they don't dictate games the way a top SH does.

Maybe playing a ball handling 13 would help the both out?

So you are saying Agar told Thorman to throw the ball about against Bradford, then seeing the exciting way we played he then told Thorman to do the opposite against Cas? Sorry I am not having that.

Against Quins I could imagine it due to they way they play and the conditions, it made more sense. They could still have drawn and passed from time to time, they managed it for the Yeaman try well enough didn't they?

The way he was singing the praises of SL and what a good experience it was to play here suggests that there may be something in the rumours of him coming to SL.

Im pretty sure Agar told them to keep it tight v Quins due to the conditions and he told them to offload v Bradford which gave Thorman 2nd phase ball to shift wide.

For the first fove games Horne & Thorman played realy well together...but the pack were also on top of every game.

Both are quality players but like everyone know's neither of then are a SH. For the short term we have to keep them both fit & play them as half backs as we have no other choice. I do however think we need to bring in washy/whiting as a ball playing looseman to take some pressure of the them!!
