Another small three quarter with suspect defence - surely one of our many weaknesses this season.

Exactly. Even when Calderwood was at Leeds, had a fantastic season and was arguably the best British winger in the game at the time, Noble didn't pick him for GB

Gardner and Raynor where far better than him. And Carney was always on that list. His international caps surely prove that Calderwood will never be any good. And I aren't just a 'bitter rovers fan' or anything like that, cos I think, there are plenty of upset Hull fans by this signing

Happy with this signing.

Some people will point to his lack of tries recently but they might want to remember our two first choice wingers this season scored eight in Super League between them.

Good signing imo. He knows where the try line is and still has plenty of pace.

Agar now needs to ensure that we start to ship the ball out wide and get the most out of an impressive wing pairing.

Think all Hull fans would agree, if he finds his Leeds form he will be a good signing, if he doesnt improve on the last year or two he wont be. Pretty black and white to me.

A bit like Fitzhenry but without the Aussie passport.

Not overjoyed with this signing as not thinkwe really need a winger for next season, think we could have used this money more effectivly in other areas.

However I will back Mark from now on, as a winger a solid English signing, will bring a bit of pace to the backs.

One thing we must do is use Calderwood effectively like Leeds need.

Kick to him for him to chase, a number of times at Leeds Calderwood forced dropouts or mistakes from chasing a kick.

A sensible signing IMO. If he winds up the opposition fans as much as he wound up our fans, I'm sure he'll be a success!

Some people on here are impossible to please. If we'd gone for a big burly winger they'd be saying that it was pace we needed not bulk. If we'd gone big bucks and used a quota they'd be saying it was a waste on money. I never liked him when he was at Leeds, but the main reason for that was he always seemed to score tries against us at the worst possible time in the game and had that arrogance and confidence that ALL wingers need, admitedly some of that has been eroded at Wigan but he isn't the first and he won't be the last to go there and dip off in form.

If in his first few games he can score a couple of decent tries and wind the opposition up as much as he used to us then everyone will be creaming their pants, just give the bloke a chance before you start slagging him off. He's a confidence player first and foremost so his own supporters bagging him before he's even put a shirt on his back is hardly gonna help is it?
