As much as I don't want to believe it, I can't help thinking it was a petty act by FC to get KR's captain, either that or Gentle was doing a mate a favour.

Have to say I had my doubts when we signed him but was still fairly hopeful his signing would improve us but in all honesty it looks to me as though he is already playing one season too many and feel he should have stayed in retirement.

The fact that a new contract remains unsigned almost a year after one was offered suggests that Tickle will be moving on.

I'd prefer him to stay but we have cover in the back row so it's no disaster should he leave.

I wouldn't be surprised if his signing for Widnes for next season was announced soon after May 1st.

Not that fussed if he stays or goes to be honest, he's a decent player and a top goal kicker...but at the same time he's another player who's been at the club years and we haven't achieved anything in that time, and he's 30 next month.

Think galea has been steady, think when ellis comes back he will drop to the bench, still think he can be a good squad player for us, but not a starter

Tickle's contact has been on the table for almost a year and remained unsigned so it's unlikely that he's going to sign it anytime soon unless Hull offer him a contact he can't refuse. Solid player however is he worth a silly money contract..
Use the money to chase a seven and let Danny do what he thinks best.

I think Tickle's value is directly related to how we evolve as a team. If we continue to be a dour, defensive oriented team with little creativity in attack - then his goalkicking is invaluable to us. If we learn some attacking plays and our centres can either bust tackles or send our wingers away - his value would decrease.

Dunno about this but how about tickle going to widnes. Then hock to hull. Wigan a owner said earlier In in the year that he thought hock would come to hull?

Doubt he'll stay this time around and don't blame him probably one last 3 year deal nearer his family to look forward to. Been a very good servant to Hull. We have younger players coming through who will take over the mantle as time progresses.

With no disrespect i'd be quite happy if he left. Solid player but never offers anything special, impeccable goal kicking excluded. Be nice to see what else we could get for his wage

Think the crucial point is:

Would a top 4 team offer Tickle a deal in a similar ball-park to the one we are offering?

If the answer is no (as I suspect it is) then we shouldn't be offering him such a deal.

In our situation, it would be reasonable to overpay for a half-back, but not for a 30 year old second row.

Pretty much sums it up for me.

Fantastic goalkicker and solid in attack but prone to the odd lapse in defence.

Others can do just as good a job.

If there's only tickle, galea and briscoe not signed for next season then we won;t see massive additions to the squad. The seymour situation is complicated as teh club need to be seen to be supporting him so may make t difficult to replace him as I suspect was the plan

Don't forget OMeley going as well. Assuming we are not at full cap i can maybe see 3 players comimg in incl. a decent 7. Again, this does not include the seymour situation. Lets hope we can find the right players to complete the jigsaw. I honestly think we are not too far off and hopefully the next 4 games will show us!

Great goalkicker good player on his day but Hulls most penalised player in each and every season that hes played for the club so needs to be able to make up for the points/penalties he gives away by been able to kick
