How do you expect him to make an impact on the International scene when it is most likely he will be playing outside of the Ryan Atkins or Michael Shenton? All of the above wingers you list get to play on the International circuit outside World Class Centre's. I'm not saying TB is world class but your point lacks a lot of context.

I think he was meaning even Richards is rated higher than Briscoe and Richards wasn't even a big name back in Aus.

To be fair I think it just popped out in the excitement of his hat-trick try and he almost immediately started to backtrack from it. Just a harmless piece of hyperbole in the heat of the moment.

I think its a bit of a bold statement calling him one of the best in the world but hes certainly one of the best wingers in superleague and i wouldnt swap the kid for anyone else...excellent player who can only get better for me.

Briscoe's a good un, but specs don't come any more tinted than that

Tom Briscoe is a superb player, and arguably the best in Super League, but you have to take into consideration who the SOO players are playing against too. If any of them were to come over here I think its safe to say they would have a huge impact.

And visa versa...i think tom would be a star in the nrl.

You have to take in consideration the fact that Briscoe plays against Superleague defences, and you've stated wingers playing state of origin, against undoubtedly the best defenders in the world. When Briscoe proves he can do his magic internationally against the big two, i'll agree

did morley,ellis,burgess,carney etc rip it up for gb/england??? Means nothing playing for that shower...were awful as a nation...theres alot of our players in this league that would do well in the nrl but we just cant do it as a team for some reason!

Your probably right,but what im saying is dont judge him on his england peformances(for what it worth,idont think hes done much wrong) judge him on what hes doing for hull..which for me is superb.

Fair point. I don't 100% agree with you about his Hull form however. I agree he has done some superb things, but in some games i've recently seen he has been a very average winger, one who makes no impact in a game, and has made some simple handling errors. I don't know if you went to the St Helens game but he was well below average. I'm also thinking of the Castleford game was it? Where he bombed a couple of certain tries. I'm not faulting the kid, nobody can be top of their game all the time. Just using the examples to stress why i think he's nowhere near the best winger in the world!
Best english winger by a country mile though

Best winger in super league by a country mile. He scores tries off his own back that I just cant see any other winger in this league scoring, in-fact, the last british winger we had like him was Brian Carney. the tries against Saints at home and away, rovers at home, wakefield at home as examples. Fantastic balance, unbelieveably strong, great at returning the ball and very quick from standing start. The only thing that stops him from being world class is his inconsistency. Ive seen him take a bomb above his head under pressure, yet some days he cant take a kick with no-one round him. He drifts in and out of games too much for me.

thats a bit like saying George best was e cos he only played for Northern Ireland. Tom Briscoe will probably never be a world cup winner thats true, but it doesnt mean he isnt/wont be as good as any of them other players, and are the Aussies full of world class wingers? if so why do they play 2 f/b's on the wings in the S.O.O games, (Boyb, Hayne)
