Found Wayne Bennett's book an interesting read, very insightful and a few areas that hull should read about.

Absolutely agree, I thought it was great, some very funny tales of culture shock, well worth buying.

Tawere Nikaus book is an excellent read.

brad fittlers is classic along with andrew johns which is also a top read..stay away from jamie peacocks, it gets boring listening to all the success whilst at bradford..


other autobiographys of note not associated with rugby are micky quinns, that is a beltin read along with deano's book

Lee Jacksons book was a good read as was Webkes and Peacocks but for me Barry Macs and Stanley genes are the best iv read......stay away from Schofields,what a bore!!!

Does anyone remember the book wrote by dick tingle about his years covering FC?? think it was called beards buttons and blue movies...read it a few years ago but what i remember of it it was quite good.

The John Dorahy book should be an interesting read.

Peacock's was ok, Barrie Mac's was excellent.

It is , Baldy lent me his copy a couple of years back .Lindsey and Whelan don't come out of the whole Gregory episode with much credit at all.
Schofield's book was just a winge from start to finish I thought and Barry Mac's isn't a bad read too.

Barry Macs is the best for me, Stevo's is a good read as is Mal Reilly and Jonathan Davies. Thought Peacocks and Sculthorpes a bit boring.

Managed to get a copy of bill harrigans autobiography ex auzzy ref was a good read very interesting bloke.

Mike Gregorys is simply superb......Lindsay and Whelan got shown up for what they are..a couple of w@nkers...Andy Gregs is a good read along with Stevo's and Barry Macs...one of the worst i read was Jason Robinsons...ended up ramming his religion down your throat.

Going O/T......Herchelle Gibbs looks to be a bloody good read and 1 of the best is Dickie Birds....bloody Hilarious...read quite a few cricketing ones and football ones...also Martin Johnsons is a suprisingly good read and gives a glowing report on league.

shane warnes book "my life in a spin" was worth a read on the long flite to brisbane..

Just finished Reilly- Mal Reilly's book great read..picked it up only £5 off amazon and was signed when it arrived. Wayne Bennett's is one of the best for me. The biggest disappointment was Kevin Ward. Another great read Matty Johns- Inside the sheds- Brilliant read

Not an autobiography as such, but I was bought 'Funny Stories in Rugby League' by Maurice Bamford last year. Some great stories in there, and gives a great insight into what RL was like from the 1940's onwards at all levels.

Barrie Macs was the best I have read over the last few years, some great stories which really made me chuckle, the bloke was a lunatic at times!

I loved Barrie Mc's, Sean Long's, Andy Gregorys and Fatty Vautin's

I have three of the four - Just need Autumn to finish the set. Very down to earth read.
