Simple: he just is not worth two years he will only manage one in my opinion. He is playing well and deserves a testimonial but is bashed up, but if anyone offers more than the sum of a years wages and a testimonial, which is quite a substansial amount, for a two year deal, then sadly they are welcome to him, we cannot let sentiment and the worry of where he might go bother us. Signing players or retaining them at increased cost just because they are from or likely to go to the other side is a receipe for disaster just ask the Dobbins and Judas!

I don't get the Mail's talk about a testimonial.

As far as I'm aware, Radford is not due a club testimonial as he hasn't got 10 year's service - even if you added his first spell at the club.

The only testimonial he could get is a general one from the RFL for 300 first team appearances during his entire career, so presumably he could apply for this wherever he plays next season.

Agree there and to be honest think even another year is pushing it for him but he has earnt a final year for me.



Just what I was thinking, I always thought that a testimonial is due and quite rightly to any player who gives 10 years straight service to a club, so in all fairness he should have another 6 years to go.

Radders is the type of player that you would want in the trenches with you, not in the opposition's.
give him the contract his performances have deserved.

I'm pretty sure that there is some sort of special dispensation in his case - something to do with continued service to RL and returning to his first club.... balh blah. Think I have my facts straight
