He's a better 6 than Washy so i think we do. It's a shame he got injured when he did as he was regaining a bit of form. Hopefully we'll get to see plenty of our half back partnership in the coming months.

I still miss Round the Horne

Horne always adds something to our team. Washy isnt a 6 and Horne gives us a running game. He looked back to his best earlier in the season. Could be a huge addition to our 17 towards to playoffs.

In all honesty.....No. I know he was regaining some form earlier in the season but he's been a player weve been 'carrying' for a while now and it shows with the teams general poor form. If we could get another decent half back in and have Horne, Long and A.N.Other fighting it out i think we would become a lot more consistent. Washbrook is not the answer IMO

He's been injured etc for 18 months with some serious illness/injuries. Carrying is way over the top imo.

I dont. I know hes trying to get on top of his illness but he wasnt all that before that either and apart from a couple of good games prior to his recent injury he has been relatively annonomous whilst playing for a long time. Problem is hes a big earner and has been a very good player in the past so has been carried in the hope that he would rediscover some form and in the process its made us a poorer team. Im not trying to be funny but that is the way i see the Horne situation.

How long is he out for?

The question was - "has he been missed??"

The answer is yes: Yes because we have no one better, yes because he was finding some form and yes because he's an excellent foil for Longy.
Irrespective of what you think of Horney, we are missing him.

He got on top of it for the start of this season and was then asked to play under injections again due to our injuries. I'm confident that when he's back fit he will play a major role in our end of season push. I disagree that he's been carried. More often than not he has been asked to play as the dictating half back due to injuries to other halves and Cooke leaving. Thats not his game.

top post Dave, im getting bored of the Horne s*it brigade, the kids had a serious injury, then diabetes, people forget just how good hes been for us, and before this injury he was finding his form, him and Long on the pitch would form a great partnership

To answer the oringinal post he is missed as he is better than Washbrook at 6.

Needs to imrpove his game to be more consistant this season though or could find himself dropped as we could use Tansey at 6 and Whiting at FB.

I presume you know he's contracted, do you think he'll leave without a pay off? If no how much would you be willing to pay him off with?

Some people on this site speak total and utter s**t, Horney has been missed if some people went on Sunday you can see Washy is never a number 6 and Horney when fit will make us a better side. He was firing on all cylinders before he got injured but has put his body on the line for the team and ended injuring himself even more.

I think you have to look at it in perspective, without a doubt we miss the Horne of old, people say that he has been playing poorly in his recent games becuase 7 is not his best position, Id agree with that but in past he has really excelled there, had a few very good seasons playing at 7. Its pretty obvious why in recent years his form as been poor, and it says a lot about the kid that he his still playing and there is no reason why he cant get back to his best with a bit of luck with injuries.

Ill go against the general view though that he has been missed a lot recently, most of it if not all was out of his control but it cant be underestimated how poor he has been in recent seasons, and apart from the home game (Huddersfield I think?) and Wigan away the following week were he showed signs of that spark of old, in the little he has played this season he hasnt had an influence, and performed no better really then Washy has been playing now at 6.

Horne has earned the patentience he has been given, I think they key is though that as mentioned above before his most recent injury the were signs were encouraging, and if he can kick on when he returns he will be one hell of a player for us again, and I think he will do that.

Oh dear here we go again slagging horney off. I'm totally fed up of the negativity of some of our so called supporters just as there is some light at the end of the tunnel they have to go looking for something or someone to slate, can't we all just get behind our team for once and show the rest we are the best supporters in super league!
