| Aimed especially at all the cocky folk who were giving it the big one! Were not Leeds, were not Wigan, were FC and weve achieved nothing for a long time so dont get carried away after two wins!
Tonight we was very average! Crooks got the better of Tuimavave, Pritchard was a rather fat looking pudding, Watts has gone to sleep again, Bowden dissapeared. Maybe just maybe Cas's lightweight pack for the future simply battered us?
Back down to earth now as i said we most easily could be on previosu crowing threads! And now Wigan next week! Lose against them and we dont exactly have a good record against them and were just an average SL side again. On tonights performance id say its 50-50

Bowden played?
Actually, I thought your pack came out on top - just.
However, the difference was the halves. Gale and Roberts made the correct decision almost every time. Despite good go forward from your forwards, Sneyd and Pryce didn't create anything on the back of it.
I thought Minichello was your best player.

| Absolutely shocking tonight, looked like we were afraid to tackle them, didnt learn when they kept attacking, that right side, open every single time down there.

| It's a wake up call, and it shows we still have plenty to work on, but it hasn't made me rethink our top 4 chances.
It wasn't at the standard of our last two performances, but it wasn't a bad performance by any stretch of the imagination. I thought Cas were excellent, yet if Michaels scores that try (let's be honest that should be bread and butter to any winger) we win. Our forwards were undoubtedly making the more yards, but their offloads and ball movement counteracted that, I thought it was an interesting game to watch in that respect.
It was one of those nights where we just came up with too many poor plays at important moments. Michaels' non finish and his forward pass to Houghton, Pritchard lashing out when we were in prime position, Watt's penalty on the last (that was maybe an even bigger moments that Michaels'), Pryce's kick when we were well placed to at least get a draw.
I thought we asked enough questions in attack, we scrambled well against a team that was throwing the ball around with abandon and had we won it wouldn't have at all been undeserved, but it wasn't our night. Two well matched teams, Cas just edges it on the day, full credit to them.
We were going to lose at some point, it's the response that will tell us if we've really got what it takes.

It was the only reason we kept in the game for so long, our pack. Thought manu was our best player, unfortunately, think cas have just shown every other super league team how to play against us, wont always be good enough to beat us, but enough to make me think we are maybe in for enougher frustrating season. Hull where poor tonight, cas took their chances well

No great drama. Cas are a very good side and Powell had certainly done his homework.
I look forward to the response next week.

Agreed. Apart from Shaul was our best player IMO. Cas are a great team to watch and fully deserved the win. In other news apparently no new injuries which is good.

| I thought cas nullified our threats pretty well and we gave them a leg up time after time with poor decisions and execution. We were pretty poor in a lot of aspects tonight however we were held up over the line 3 or 4 times and michaels really should have taken that opportunity so we were in with a shout despite being well off our best. If we turn it around and win next week we can chalk this one off to experience but if we don;t play well next week then the doubts will start to come in

| Negatives:
Kick offs - I don't mind them going to the same place each time, as long as they have length and height but tonight they had neither. Catching on the 10 and were getting to the 20m easily every time.
Last tackle options - watts and manu (1st half and 2nd half) ending up with the ball. Sneyds kicking was poor, he doesn't put his foot through it. It just lobs in the air and dont pressure the back 3 of cas.
Discipline - I know we were getting frustrated with the ref but we need to cut the penalties out. Their go forward wasn't that great but we were piggy backing them up the field
Line speed - there wasn't any. Cas were never gonna go down the middle against us, but we helped them with this by dropping off. Getting off the line quickly would stop the angled runs they were making and force them to play to our strengths.
Pryce - that kick!! Also, the drive he took in and he tried to get help up but got carried out over the in goal to give them a tap 20. They scored off the back of that.
Positives - Shaul, resilience to come back from 18-6 to leading the game, Manu (apart from the first 10 mins) and the fact we didn't play that well yet were in contention until the last play.
Cad played well and deserved the win. Solomona gave a lesson in finishing

As you point out, to poor in to many areas, cant understand why houghton doesnt kick more, always seems to put a decent one in wgen he does

| The best 'Team' won on the night
We may have had the better players, but they were the better team.
We still look a bit void of ideas near the oppositions line.

| Gutsy performance, indiscpline and mistakes especially in the first half cost us .
We missed too many one on one tackles. Cas seemed a bit quicker which wrong footed our bigger men on too many occasions.
Our right edge defence worries me , we seem very vunerable down that side .
Great character though and hopefully we will learn from tonight .

| I think when you give a peno away under the sticks on the last tackle because your brain as gone AWOL like Carr or Watts (was it?) did, then you deserve to get beat.
And I wanted you to win.

from the quick reply in the stadium I thought Watts never moved and the Cas player deliberately left his leg in and 'tripped' over his arm. It's just like what soccer players do. Soft penalty to me amongst others but our discipline overall was poor.

Watts made no attempt to move his arm, easy penalty for the ref to give.
As a Rovers fan it pains me to say it but I think you'll go well this year, plenty of size and strike power all over the field. IMO you need an attack coach bringing in though to help Radford out.

| Just think we have to sort out our right side defense one way or another.I think if we include the Rovers friendly it's about 8/9 tries down that side.In tight games like last night it could cost more points.
