I could have told you two years ago that they don't work together.

Not me you need to be telling. Rankin was brought in to play six and after two games he moves him. Horne and Azza have played together numerous of times together and barely ever linked up well yet they still persist with them. Azza looks lively but doesn't create much. Horne just doesn't create anything at all.

After a decent first couple of games Horne has done nothing of note. Azza is wasted in the halves. Should have persisted with Rankin, maybe tried Miller - who will now be woefully short of match practice if we do turn to him.

Long season ahead.

Waste of time Horne playing today . I'll still stand by what I said about Horne 2 years ago , he has 1 good game in 4/5 games which is no good to us or any team hoping to challenge for trophys .

The problem is Radford never gave Miller a chance at pre season. This was his biggest mistake. Horne is too old and Azza is not a 7. Should of given Rankin and Miller a shot straight from the beginning. That is the whole point of him being here!

I'd just bite the bullet and tell miller and rankn your the halves for the rest of the season, unless injured can't be any worse,
Then I'd drop yeaman and play Horne at centre at least he can pass the ball backwards and to hands.
Then bring either Saul or if fit McDonald in at full back.
Team is lacking leadership and composure.

Our best pivot today was Westerman, and he wasn't as good as he has been this year.

We've got to end the Horne/Heremaia partnership. Today it was woeful.
Heremaia needs to come off the bench, as has been said many times.

Why not give Miller a go now? I'm not convinced by him but he needs an extended run. If he's no good, then at least we tried.

I've seen diappointing losses before at the KC, but at no point at all did I think "We'll nick this". I don't know why Widnes bothered with the drop goal, it's not as if we were going to score twice!

Chucking Miller in for his first game, behind our depleted pack would have been suicidal.

Can understand why he didn't gamble on Miller today given the lack of forwards and the conditions...but he has to get his chance on Friday. If he doesn't we need to pay him off and move on. Paying him to sit in the stand is doing nobody any good.

Agree with this. If he isn't selected on Friday I don't know when he will be.

I have got to agree I can not blame the forwards today Ellis was great Watts stood up can not really fault them guys our half's and outside backs where wooful simple same problem we have had for 5 or more years its a coach killer our enthusiasm was poor also which is disappointing the worst thing was widnes where poor as well most teams in the league would have beaten them by 20 today 2 points thrown away really ed off with that performance, I will give credit to Radders at least he is honest hope he kicks em up the harris tomorrow some really need it

It would appear to me that the contract clause of being released if you haven't played for 6 months, is soon to be invoked.

If this is true then we have a major problem because what we have at the moment will mean we struggle to reach the play offs.

we have plenty to reach the play offs they just need to put a decent shift of work in u can not bomb 4 clear cut chances and exspect to win in those conditions the players where dreadful it started terrible and did not improve any such a contrast from our opening 4 games

Might as well have given Dave Butler a go today if he's not going to pick Miller. Ellis was superb but wasn't backed up.

hull seem as far away than ever sorting the halfback problem.with agar it was berrigan and washbrooke we kept trying there,with gentle it was westerman and whiting he tinkered with there.now we have heremaia out of position playing there.miller needs to be given a chance.saints,wigan and Castleford to name 3 ,have gone out and signed scrum halfs,who while no world beaters at least know the basics in half back play.

I'd go with Miller and Rankin next week. Drop Horne and get Azza spelling Houghton. Back to basics.
