It's just 50 days since Pearson took over, and so far he's:
Organised a "root and branch" review of the club
Promised pass prices will come down
Binned off Agar
Brought in a DOR and probably the most sought-after NRL assistant Coach
Canvassed opinion and changed game day
Talked about bringing in a more professional relationship with our neighbours for mutual benefit
Incentivised a big attendance for the Warington game
Said the squad's not good enough and he'll pay fees to make the right signings.
Says he wants to fill the KC stadium

A few thoughts:
1) I don't think he could have actioned any more in just 50 days than he has.
2) A lot of this is just talk at this stage and we're a fair way off seeing the thing we all want, ie success on the pitch. However, what he has given us some decent evidence of is a precious commodity in sport and one the fans have been bereft of since 2007 - hope.
3) 50 days ago we were going into 2012 with Kath and Agar. The Pearson era might all go to hell, but at least next season [umight[/u see us step up at last, as opposed to entering it in certain knowledge of mediocrity and disappointment.

Wonder what the next 50 days will bring?

All the potential Pearson wants was on show last night. The attendance was obviously a massive vote of confidence especially when you consider the game was on TV. A shame that our mediocrity on the pitch spoiled the party. If confirmation were needed that giving Agar the boot was the right thing to do, last night crystalized it perfectly.

Not to mention the extension of the contract of one of the brightest talents at hooker in the country, and the signing of a young prop to go alongside that.

And the sacking of our conditioner.

That will probably take about another 50 days......AP has got to pace it for the faithful, too much excitement is not good for us

Exciting stuff!

Always remember Pearson is just an opportunist 'investor', not a benefactor.

He has no love or affinity for Rugby League itself, never mind Hull FC.

There is still plenty of speculation from his former colleagues and associates over what his 'end game' really is!

Whatever he does at the club, rest assured it will be in the main interest of Adam Pearson, not the fans!

I’m sure it is but success gets greater attendances with gains you more money and greater profit. Also I’m sure that AP saw an opportunity to get a lot of money but as long as FC becomes the club they should be from that (top 4) I don’t give two toots.

Pearson sees a business opportunity at FC because, despite finishing 3 seasons out of the last 4 in the bottom half of the table, we showed can still get a 14k+ gate (excluding away support) when the "excitement" on offer amounts to scrapping for a play-off place. The potential is pretty obvious.

Success for Pearson is therefore to get a successful team at FC and to try and fill the stadium, or at least get gates higher than the relatively dismal 11k average we've sunk to under Hetherington and Agar. If Pearson achieves this goal, who loses out, exactly? Pearson won't be at FC forever, but first of all he will have to speculate to accumulate, therefore it's unlikely he'll bail after one or two seasons to recoup his initial investments. Second of all if he's after selling FC for a profit, he'll have created a compelling investment for someone to buy through adding shareholder value to the club. Again, a good thing. Isn't it?

Of course it may go to hell, as already said, but the club was in danger of sliding further in 2012 51 days ago, with an ambitionless board embracing mediocrity and giving Agar a merit badge for perpetual underachievement. Pearson has brought hope to the fans. This hope may end up being unfulfilled, as it is essentially at 10 out of 12 SL clubs, but compared to what might have been 51 days ago, I think we're in a very positive position.

He's had a positive effect we've only lost once in the league since he arrived

Welcome to Hull F.C.!

I sincerely hope that you are able to transform this sleeping giant of the rugby league world into a major power whilst getting a handsome return on your investment. I thank you for the changes that you've made in your first 50 days and trust that you build on these moving forward.

As a passionate supporter of Hull F.C., I've got increasingly frustrated in recent years by our playing performances. Frankly, so much of what's been delivered on the field has appeared 'dumb,' if simply two dimensional, whilst our rivals have 'invested' wisely to the extent that their style of play and results outstrip ours. Finishing 8th in Super League this season is unacceptable.

Hull's 'off the field' performance, by contrast, is so much better with grade A Super League status, strong financial management, and excellent community programmes. You must be concerned by the falling attendances, however, and the Hull public will continue to vote with its feet in 2012 unless player recruitment and on-field performances markedly improve.

I read the recent article in the Hull Daily Mail about Hull F.C. collaborating with Hull K.R to enable the city of Hull to become the "power base" of British rugby league and think this is a positive initiative. For Hull F.C. to finish behind its neighbour is frankly sickening given our superior resources. Please fix this and fast!

Finally, because I live in the south UK it's been impossible for me to finish work in time to attend the Friday night home games for the past few years. My spectating has been confined to watching Hull play away on Saturdays/Sundays. I'm therefore delighted that you are moving some of the home games to Sundays as there's more chance for me to be at the K.C. and for the club to benefit from my money!

I don't disagree with much of what you say.

Pearson is a skilled administrator no doubt, but he most certainly isn't the 'White-knight' some are making him out to be.

Unlike the likes of Hudgell, Moran, Davy, McManus, Hughes et al, Pearson is purely in the game for what he can get out - he will demand a significant return on his investment, whether that is through keeping profits or fattening the club up for a sale, ala what he did at City.

We all know he is taking over an under-performing club now but what happens if/when he helps it achieve it's maximum potential? Where is the investment opportunity for anyone else? With no benevolent oligarchs of Oil-rich Arabs likely to be interested, who can he sell it to?

Either he is just prepared to 'milk the cow' for all it's worth over the next few years by taking a couple of hundred grand profit out of the club (which I find hard to believe, given he usually plays to bigger stakes) or there is a hitherto unrevealed 'end game'.

All of which links him back to the Allam's and the KC Stadium plans!

A few challenges on this.

1) The only suggestion that Pearson is a "white knight" is that he is providing fans with some element of hope and some stated lofty ambitions. If you can provide links of anyone on here suggesting he is in it for his love of the sport or the club, I'll give you a shiny penny.

2) You claim he is fattening the club up for a sale. The fans aren't stupid and will demand success, otherwise we'll remain at the dismal attendance levels of this year, ie 11,000 ish. He will therefore only achieve profits if he delivers on the pitch. There is no downside here. In doing so he creates a compelling investment for the next owner.

3) Your comparison with Hudgell is interesting. What Hudgell has done thus far from a financial perspective is to increase debt by upwards of £2m, and a business that's still some way from being self-sustaining. He's said he's not going to be there forever, as no board is. He's taking on more debt with the repayments required on the £2m North Stand should that ever go ahead. Is that a compelling investment for the next owner? Peversely Pearson's plan, whose motivation is purely financial, provides the better chance of future prosperity than Hudgell's, whose motivation is far more emotional. You talk as if underwriting a club ad infinitum is a good thing - my view is that in the short term it's comforting but in the long term may even be damaging. Where will Huddersfield Giants be when Ken Davy departs?

Hudgell will sell Hull KR one day, and has spoken of a finite 10 year reign. He may be gone before Pearson is from FC if that is the case. Neither of us knows who either will sell to, yet you suggest that Pearson creating a club that actually has some positive value in it is not a good thing. Personally I'd rather be in a position at that point to have a club with positive net assets and profitability potential as this will appeal to a broader audience of potential buyers than a club with net liabilities and a £2m debt on the North Stand; you may get lucky and have another rich(ish) Rovers fan to buy the club and continue a hand to mouth existence.

4) The Allams. Firstly, how are their detailed plans going down with council? I suggest that 1) They've not provided any because 2) they want the stadium for nowt to mortgage against on a commercial, rather than philanthropic so-called "Sporting Village", and 3) the council aren't very impressed. Rovers are more in bed with the Allams as FC as it stands. Should we read anything into that as you seem rather preoccupied with their position re FC rather than at Rovers? Odd.
