If he does retire, which looks probable, let me just say well done on a phenomenal career and while it was pretty fleeting, it was great to see him play in the famous black and white.

Memorable performances for me include Saints away and Hull KR at home.

Alas, that's very true. I actually greeted the signing (out of desperation, probably), but through no fault of his own it never happened for him at Hull. He was, as you say, done before he came.

Great player in his heyday. Alas another poor recruitment decision and poor judgement all round by A^%r and Ja Rule.

And if he wasnt injured and we were in the top 3 he'd be the best thing since sliced bread....the bloke has been superb throughout his career and i actually got to meet the bloke

In fairness to Sean Long I dont think he intentionally got injured and are all his injuries due to age? He was out for a lot of last season with a dislocated elbow, the same injury as Luke Robinson got playing for England, and this season with a badly broken thumb and a dislocated shoulder. I think it's pretty cynical to begrudge a player who has an excellent pedigree and has clearly put his body on the line playing for the club.

Not sure who you are calling cynical fact is he was a great player in his heyday, but in rhetorspect from the clubs perspective it's a poor signing!!
