What a waste of fecking money he has been

Ironic that this comes up on the 2nd anniversary of Hull playing Saints with Long playing for them in the week his transfer was announced. 2 years ago we saw Long show some class as Saints tonked us, thinking 2010 and beyond would be great with him at the helm.

Alas, it simply hasn't happened.

Hope the injury isn't too serious and he gets back ASAP.

Unfortunatly you are right.Its a great pity we could not get him on the pitch without being injured.Reckon thats the last we have seen of him in a Hull shirt.

Same here...the problem is we know once he is back it will not be long before he is injured again...Now we know why Saints would not give him more than 1 yr, he is finished!

Knowing Agar we'll resign him for next season!

He may well be finished. I was just thinking of the player really instead of labelling him a waste of money.

Maybe so,but a quality player who has not had the best of luck with us.

I agree mate,reckon he will call it a day,seems dislocated shoulder,realy feel for the guy,all freak injuries that he gets.

The thing is Paul,as much as I rate Longy you just have a niggling fear he is going to get injured when he takes to the pitch.I cannot state how hughely disappointed I am it has not worked out for him.I was well happy when he signed for us.

No mate I am not stupid...The only stupid people here are the one's who signed a has been h/back for 2 years!!

Of course he does not plan the injuries, however any-one who is not STUPID understands old has been's are very prone to injuries!

Same, but by the sounds it sounded like another serious one. Feel sorry for him, but sport isn't for the sympathetic.

Unless he comes back next week and tears our future opposition a new one for the rest of the season, he's been a bad signing.

You have to ask yourself why did Saints not want to keep him, they knew deep down his body couldn't hack it anymore. He should have being given a one year deal.

They had the luxury of 2 or 3 decent youngsters coming through which we hadn't. That's the real area where we should be criticised IMO - not the fact we signed Long (when just about every fan was rightly crying out for a scrum half and there wasn't really anyone else available) but the fact that we cant supply an Eastmond/Lomax/Gaskell from within our own systems.

I'd buy Ellis out of his contract get him here early, what bad can it do just to let him play the season out. Will probably help us better in the long run then getting in another stop gap.
