| New Council Leader Steve Brady has arranged a meeting with Hull City's owner Assem Allam to discuss the future of the KC Stadium.
Mr Allam and his son Ehab want to create a £100 million sports village, including a hotel, facilities for tennis, squash and gymnastics, an Olympic-size swimming pool and a multi-storey car park, at the site of the KC.
There had been deadlock between the Allams and the previous Liberal Democrats administration under leader Carl Minns, with Mr Allam accusing the council of being unreceptive.
But Cllr Brady confirmed a meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 24.
He said: "I want to look at the detailed plans and really understand what Mr Allam wants to do.
"We want to protect the interests of the council but this could also be really good for the city."
[u[iWhat are your thoughts on this.
Would the proposed plans increase your pass sales/ attract fans?
Would an increase in capacity have a detrimental affect on your atmosphere ?
Do you welcome Allam ?, he was at CP yesterday with Hudge , i personally want him nowhere near RL in this city.[/i[/u

| Suprised that nobody (unless I have missed it) hasnt commented on the other part of this story from Radio Humberside this morning that they believe AA is going to invest in Hull KR despite previously saying he didnt want to favour either side.
If true I would be suprised they wanted that information to come out especially if this does end up going to a public vote (which seems democratic in one sense but a total cop out by the council leader in another so he dosent have to make a hard and possibly unpopular descison).

| The council should sell the stadium, and use the money to build us a new ground similar to St Helens' (with standing) and buy/renovate Craven Park. They then still get two teams paying rent and have 3 better facilities in the city, with some money to spare.
City can do what they want then and be of no concern to us. FC and KR can get on with their lives in council run stadia of a premier standard and maybe play big derby games at the KC "neutral" ground.

Well considering the council can only use the proceeds for similar projects, that would be a great idea.
Sell it for £40m+, knock us a stadium together for £15-£20m ish at the boulevard. DONE!!!

Interesting that, i know Allam & Hudge are very good friends ,so who knows.
He must however be deluded if like in his past interviews he thinks the two clubs would merge , the rivalry is fantastic .
personally i think Allam will end up getting the KC stadium , which surely can only be a good thing for Hull FC.

I've long advocated this. City can expand the ground, and we can get one that suits our needs.
One thing I won't accept, is KR moving to the KC. They had their chance. If the owners of City also invest in KR, that puts us in a bad position. I don't expect it'd go down well in East Hull either.
You voted Labour in. On your heads be it!!!!!!

The only thing it can't be is GOOD, this would be a nightmare for FC and Hull in general IMO and i would be very concerened as a City fan!!

| "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts" or in this case the Allams. You do not become a multi-millionaire business man by being altruistic, and anybody who thinks the Allams want the KC and surrounding fair ground site in order to give something back to the city are deluding themselves. If that is the case why has it taken so long to discover their civic generosity?
If, when, they gain control of the KC and fairground then Hull FC"s days at that stadium are numbered. The Allams will pull out all the stops to get Hull City AFC into the premiership. Once that happens and they have control and ownership, forget redevelopment that simply will not happen. What will happen is that they will sell out to the highest bidder. There are plenty of foreign billionaires that want a slice of the premiership pie. The Allams will walk away with a huge profit.
Where will that leave Hull FC?
I'll tell you where. Out on our ear, no premiership owner will want RL spoiling their stadium. Forget cast iron tenancy agreements, when you have the money you can bog down for years any dispute in the law courts. If the council do sell don't expect any where near the 45 million it cost to build the stadium. The Allams won't be interested in paying a fair price and the council will certainly not be interested in spending 15 - 20 million on building another stadium. The new councillors that have just been elected may not be the sharpest tools in the box but even they can see that committing to a second stadium would be political suicide.
For the sake of RL in this city the council need to give a firm NO to the Allums plans.

That sums the situation up perfectly for me. We pay roughly £1/2m to play at the KC which is about 1% of the turnover of a decent sized premiership outfit and anyone owning a premier league club that plays at the KC would want us out pronto. Anyone who thinks that lease agreements are cast iron is kidding themselves. Allam wants the KC so he can borrow against it. He can't do that unless he gets it for significantly less than it's worth and the council won't be spending any money they get on another stadium

| its scary stuff, another david lloyd situation or possibly worse, hope hull are going over 'what if' scenarios in the board room, we need to be prepared, ive got a very bad feeling about all this, the fact he is getting cosy with hudgell has got to have hull fc on high alert, hudgell would not miss an opportunity to hurt hull as we all know and is one sly barsteward

I totally agree that selling the KC would be distastrous for FC and would leave the stadium & anything else tied up with the sale in the hands of god knows who in 5 or 6 years time.
Certainly as rugby fans we would never get anything like the facilities that the KC provides nor somewhere as centralised. Who really wants a 14k capacity stadium that isn't fully covered or enclosed, because you'll never get the board investing in paying out for one even with grants & a pay-off from the council (i.e. we own a ground)
Equally I couldn't see the council coughing up £25-£30M for something like Saints new stadium either.
As a side note Jake, your 1% of turnover comparative of an average PL team is a little bit askew, even Man Utd only turned over (a record) £290M in 2009/10.
