after seeing tansey's attacking flair,i think we have got a very good fullback,i deffo think he is a far better player in this department than shaun briscoe,tansey is the modern day attacking fullback,as shaun is safe and reliable but for me has'nt quite got that x factor about his attack,i can see shaun being replaced with eastmond again, as he offers a lot more in attack,i just cant see shaun briscoe causing any problems for the aussies,gutted when he left for the dobbins but think in tansey we have a very good attacking weapon,

im a big fan of briscoe, always will be but im looking forward to seeing tansey next season, its quite an exciting prospect as he is a great talent, could be a fans favorite next season just like briscoe was.

Briscoes defence is sometimes suspect. However, his positional sense is excellent and under the high ball he's better than Wellens.

Tansey is more exciting though. I'm looking forward to watching him feed off Sean Long.

At the moment I'd say Briscoe, and I rate him highly, he's the one player in the last few seasons that we shouldn't have let go.

Tansey played great in the few games that we've seen him in, however, I would say that he needs another year under his belt, purely for experience, before he's at England quality, as he's shown that he easily has the potential to be there and is a great signing by the club.

Like most fans i was gutted when we handed our highly rated full-back to our nearest and bitterest rivals on a plate. But with the arrival of Tansey, i've finally come to terms with that and think we now probably have the better player. Time will tell but he certainly made an impressive start to his FC career.

Tansey is more in the mould of webb at leeds. Briscoe is solid and his support play is good, however he doesn't off the same threat as tansey does

Was underwhelmed by the Tansey signing at first, but after his performances at the end of the season, he looks a great signing. Got potential to be a top class full back. However, I think Briscoe is the better player at the moment, but not for long.

both very different players to compare, would you have someone who may score a few tries but isnt that safe under the high ball or someone who gives the side that confidence that there as safe as houses at the back but doesnt score that many?
Tansey is exicting going forward ill give him that but he aint gonna stop Palleasena over his own try line like Briscoe did is he?

Tansey is very much like a lot of NRL fullbacks, and if he keeps developing like he has he'll be England #1 no doubt.

To be fair Tony, I'm sure that Briscoe has a better tryscoring record. If this thread was comparing ANY Rovers player to a Hull player, 90% of the posters would say the Hull player is better. There is very little reason behind Hull or Rovers fans views when it comes to these matters!
