It would appear that when you play badly at home and loose, some players expect booing and jeering. This is according to Myhil.

Maybe Agar and Rule should take note......

Booing because a player or players has an off day is for the mindless numpties. Booing because players are simply not putting the effort into doing something most fans would give their right arm to do (although that would hamper their playing ability somewhat) is more justified although again not something I would do.

I think Myhil (and City) might have to get used to that sound this season.

Maybe so , but continued barracking etc of the team game after game would have a detrimental effect on performance.

I just fail to see what good it does. If anything it does more bad then good hence why I never boo.

If the team has played crap then my way of dealing with it is to leave early and just not clap them off as they haven't deserved it.

You pays your money, you makes your choice.

I suppose it is how fans express themselves, cheer or boo either gets the message across, suppose you pays your money you are entitled to express your feelings, personally I just stay silent if disappointed however I have been pushed to the limits this season

True , but where possible I like to take any positives out of the game.

Too many times a defeat is attributed to ' we were rubbish ' and credit not given to the opposition.

Personally think players may get the message more if they trudge off in an empty stadium rather then booing.

Indeed, for all we have aclled the players this season, we also have to acknwledge the improvement in many other teams in SL. We've stood still for two years whilst [ialmost[/i everyone else seems to have progressed.

I have not and will never boo the players.

Rarely do all seventeen players play badly, some always give 100% and by booing the team you are booing those players as well. Besides what does booing acheieve, lets the crowd get its anger out maybe, but it has and will never help improve performances.

I am still very guarded about what when discussing players, this forum is far to public and somethings I have read on here have been appalling. The players earn a hard living at times ( Chev Walker) and they never shoudl receive the personal abuse and vitriol they get of some of the halfwits that pervade these boards. It hurts the players and there families, if you can't watcgh the game without getting over excited go and watch football.

What about coaches, because basically you are saying the majority of players giver 100% (not sure our lot did this season), so if results are consistently poor should fans be allowed to boo the coach

The players earn a relatively easy living playing a hard game. They are paid extremely well to do a job most would give their right arm to do.

There are numerous occupations that are a much harder way to make a living than professional sport and they are considerably poorer paid.

Would not say they are paid extremely well. Their career lifespan is on average 10 years and only the top players get a very good wage.


As for booing sometimes this season the team have deserved to be booed, we are just letting our feelings be known to them.

I'd say that 30k (at the lower end of the scale) to do a job like that is very good money. Compared to say, £5.50 per hour for cleaning up vomit/poo/other messy substances in a nursing home, it's extremely well paid.
