Anyone else experienced Rovers fans saying "We were lucky to win", and "Raynors try was good"

few mates from work who are 100% rovers fans said the try should of stood and they where in line with play they also said no fans shouted forward

Rovers were a bit lucky to win (a good example of how you do [inot[/i make your own luck, IMO). Hall's pass to Raynor looked okay on TV - even if it was a bit forward, those are mostly let go.

It was another close derby - what I'll say for Rovers is that they tend to win close games. When we lose we tend to get battered.

especially if its Leeds or Saints

Leeds are a great side but also the sied that gets away with murder in just about every game I see. Saints much the same (but still great).
We have a slight possibility of a foreward pass - Ref rules it out.
Seems like sour grapes but it's been going on for years for them.

Me too. And considering Rovers fans generally shout 'forward' at every pass, that was the one time they were quiet...and expecting Raynor to score!

Most fair minded Rovers fans are willing to admit they were lucky to get the win and that the pass was not forward. In fact a Rovers mate text me during the game to say FC were the better team. ATEOTD they still got the 2 points and thats what matters. Until we are good enough to negate the poor decisions and make the most of our opportunities we will continue to lose close games and perhaps put the blame on refs decisions etc.

A work colleague of mine thought it was a great match but he had more to say about our poor following.

Then again he has only started going to watch them since they got into superleague so I tend to ignore him most of the time!

The win was never in doubt and it was forward a mile...simple as.

As you've only been watching rugby for 3 years, 4 at the most, I'll forgive you a child like view on the game.

I wouldn't say we were 'lucky' as either side couldhave won it, but the try should have stood IMO, but there was still a while to go and anything could have happened.

Thought it was a fair pass and relieved when he blew it up! Having said that we led for 80mins of the game so i don't consider it luck at all. Sign of a good team when you can play poorly, as we did, and still win.

If that try had stood Hull would have took the lead it changed the game it was a 12 pointer for Rovers ..you score straight after it ..If the score had stood for Hull we get the ball back from the kick off

then whupped their sorry a$$.....then the headline would have read "WHAT A RIGHT COOKE UP"

True. However, 5 drives and a shocking kick later we would have been back on the attack!

Paul Cooke has just said on KCFM it wasn't forward and he was in line with it

Cooke may be Public Enemy No.1, he may be the anti-christ and an eater of babies.

however, he's not a referee, so his opinion's about as valid as yours, mine or John Prescotts (who incidently said it was forward!)

rubbish, now if you'd have said something like

" the pass was not backwards, relative to the linesman who was, in and so far as best he could looking in a northerly direction, now where did I put my croquet mallet, secretary, jag & pies" we may have believed you.
