Just a query a couple of folks have asked me about. As our game in Edinburgh is on the red button interactive channel on Sunday , and a lot of us will be there is there any way you can timer record it either on Sky + or an ordinary recorder?

Dont think so. You'd need someone at home to press the red button and then record.

i believe it is possible but very awkward.. every red button interactive contect has a channel but it isnt on the sky EPG.. you can add these and will be available under the "other channels" button.. but sky plus may not record "other channels" I will look when I get back home.. I believ 12441V is the frequency but will have to double check.

I've had a quick Google and [url=http://www.avforums.com/forums/sky-sky/850813-how-program-record-red-button-interactive-content.htmlthis[/url seems to suggest tha Sky make the Red Button content available to record by adding a special channel to the EPG.

There's also a suggested manual method there but no indication as to how successful it may be.

If its succesful i guess it would also make the post-match analysis from sky available to record too when it goes over to the red button.

I'll have to take a look at the EPG entries for next weekend when I get home. These channels don't appear normally, only when there is some specific content that people might want to record.

A similar question came up on Boots N All the other week regarding the red button program and Sky+. Eddie said the red button program is on the end of the early morning highlights on the normal Sky channel. I'd imagine the Hull game will be repeated at stupid o'clock in the morning for the purpose of recording on Sky+, but I may be wrong.

Hardly surprising, such is Rugby League's importance to Sky. They've probably got a Pro Tiddlywinks final to show instead.

The Sky TV listings website I looked at only goes up to midnight Sunday so there might be repeats. Be worth checking again tomorrow.

Ideally a MOTD style highlights programme should be done on the Monday night and I don't mean a Boots N All type.

not sure on the sky boxes but Joetwizzy is correct each red button channel has a seperate channel and it is easily recordable on other type of boxes.

Aye i'm sure you can record it. I would have thought it would be similar to recording the Premier league highlights?

yep.. its the linux based boxes it works on unforunetly .. not the official sky ones

Just a suggestion i use th elinux/windows boxes and have done for a while (dm100 is windows not linux works well with cccam)

haven't got one yet.. Im going to wait for the new cards to come out before getting one because I belive the new card will not work in them?.

Yeah i have heard rumours that some have had the new card and are not suffering any problems. But keeping to 1 month subs till its definate.


So do Sky not add EPG to the channel as it goes live then?
I know they come up as a bunch of numbers on my DM600 but not really looked at the epg before.

The interactive they do not. And although its searchable by the frequency number on other boxes sky hide them so it shows "channels not found". No way around it
