| It's probably already been mentioned on previous threads - but here goes anyway.
Mr Murray is currently in the country and was at the Hudds v Rhinos game last night. If, and it's a big if, we do sack Agar and Sharp, would it be worth a move for him?
He obviously won the CC with Leeds but had some problems with the team following that and left to coach in OZ.
He took the Cowboys to a GF and coached New South Wales, so the guy has the pedigree.
One stumbling block would be the Visa issue...I'm assuming the same restrictions apply to coaches and players.
If this is the case...sacking the current duo would leave us in further limbo.
What do you all think? Would you want G Murray?

| He's only here for a celebration dinner. Unless he's posting his CV through the KC Stadium door.

| We`ll be stuck with Agar to at least the end of this season.
Welcome to the non relegation franchise era.
Our forward thinking Board saw fit to reward a non proven Head Coach with a 2 and half year contract!

| I don't think he's the answer but we need any kind of change right now. It's not on for us to have to sit through two seasons of the drivel. I'd have him with either Agar or Sharp stepping down to assistant.

Spot on.....but this time i bet they keep him.
Peter Sharp was sacked for more or less the same thing Agar is doing now.

| The Board should have given Agar a One year deal . He would then have to prove himself .
Instead they gave him 2 years! Un proven , but rewarded with a payout on the remainder or his 2 years if the Board show the bottle to admit their mistake and sack him!
On the playing side , Thorman , Thackray and Moa are given 1 year deals to prove their worth , as stated on signing them ?

| I can see this being resolved with Agar stepping aside in a similar way to Lowes at Wire.
I was at the reserves yesterday and saw the reason why we are in the poop. Other than having no real class coming through the ranks ( one or two exceptions only ) the coach of the reserves is Last.
Now if you are an up and coming star what are you going to learn from him. He may be a nice guy, he may be a good coach of say an amateur team, but what does he know about turning potential into quality. From him we then have Agar and Sharp. Hardly inspiring.
We have all waxed lyrical on here about our local youngsters coming through the ranks and how many British players we have in the squad, yet they are not taking the next step up to become truely class players. WHY WHY WHY..... Its because we have nobody inspirational enough at the top to help them along.
We have failed to get anyone into a recognised position apart from prop of which we have an abundance of average plodders. We are obsessed with utility players, in other words jack of all trades masters of none.
The reserves play 5 drives and a kick the first team do as well. There are no planned moves. No off the cuff play. No inspiration and no leadership. At least they all play the same pattern so should be inter changeable like all good clubs do.
I would say thanks to all three mentioned, but explain that a head coach is coming in over them to over see the complete reconstruction of the club.
If they don't like that then THEY can decide to stand down. This I hope would not cost the club too much, other than the wage of the headman. They may well decide to stay and learn which would be credit to them. If the leave then its no big deal.
The muterings that I have heard indicate that Berro is trying to take a lead in shaking things up, which I feel is to his credit. The players are back biting and are divided. Clearly Sharp and Agar are not capable of sorting this out.
One of the worst examples I have seen of this division was at Quins this year when the reserves left the game after about half hour. They should have remained to watch and support their colleagues. They are the ones after all who should be aspiring to make the first 17.
Lets hope the alledged powers that be act soon and we can start the clear out and start building for 2010. Get rid now of the ones that Agar stated he would clear out. Put the youngsters in for some experience. Take the defeats which we are going to get in anycase, but most of all get the players playing with some pride for us to feel that it might be worth turning up to cheer them on.

| I'd have Murray too - nice to see I wasn't the only one who suddenly had the thought when he appeared on Sky last night.
He is a noted disciplinarian too, and I don't think that would go amiss in any situation !

| Would be a good move to get Graham Murray in but I really can't see the board offloading Agar this season, which is a shame. Looks like we're in for a long summer of 5 drives and a a poor kick!

Barrie McDermott really rates him in his book, and I can't imagine Barrie was that easy to coach in his prime! he said that Leeds became much more professional when he arrived, and presumed that Murray really regretted leaving when Leeds were on the verge of success.

As has been said, I can't really see any coaching changes unfortunately.

| Rendell you don't post that much but you make a lot more sense than most of the regular no alls, rumour mongers, stirrers, idiots that post regularly on this board, very few I am sure have played the game or have a clue about the rules, or may I add, know how to run a business and deal with many less than perfect sportsmen.
We do need some drastic action to save our season and only the board can do this if they choose to do so, if not we will just fall further and further behind on the playing side of 90% of the teams in Super League.
So farewell from sunny Malaga where I have a contract to finish, just wondering whether to wear my FC shirt next week when I go to see the Salford game on Sky, decision!decisions!

| We could get Wayne Bennett but even he wouldn't be any good without a recognised scrum half on the pitch. That said SH wouldn't have to be a world beater just someone that can do a SH job and carry out the game plan of the coach.
Look at the difference of our games last season with and without Dykes, when he was half crocked he gave the team direction and organisation with a few clever moves thrown in also.
Peter Sharp was sacked after the game at Quins, for his 13 games in charge 2007 there was only 4 games that we conceded 30 points +, 30-30-32-34.
The following 13 games (SL) we conceded 30 + on 7 occaiasions including one of 66 and one of 42.
On that alone I dont think the decision to give Agar a 2 1/2 yr contract was wise to say the least.
IMO it still comes down to having a reasonable SH, Thorman isn't.

Agree with all that, but if we got Wayne Bennett, he'd definitely attract a world class 7.

| Murray would be a great signing and would go along way to righting the wrongs of the boards last two coaching appointments . The appointment of Murray or a coach of similar stature should be made now so he can bring in his own players for 2010 and get rid of the dead wood .
