Have we finally un-earthed a direct replacement for Shaun Briscoe? Motu is obviously weeks away from being fit and Byrne is finished for this season. So let's shed Craig of his 'Utility' tag and give him the 'No.1' shirt for the rest of the season. He looks very comfortable in this role!

See how he goes until Tony returns (if he does) and then make a decision at the end of the season. He had a few good games in his first season then Sharp made a knee-jerk reaction and gave him the right starting centre spot for the whole season, which didn't work out.

Thought Hall was very good today. It's that long since Tony played I think his kick returns have been exaggerated a bit. Good player but we're not missing him all that much to be perfectly honest.

I thought Craig did well today, he certainly revels in a bit of space. Some excellent link play today as well.

I think thats very harsh considering this is his 5th season with the club. And he is still the best full back in our squad IMO and you aren't going to change that opinion.

Why harsh...he isnt playing so i dont think about him,same for Raynor......Who said owt about changing your opinion...he isnt playing so Hall is getting the raps he deserves...the kick return will come.

Not sure that's true. I think instead that we are making better yards and being more creative, so the importance of top notch kick returns has diminished.

Either way, at the moment we're doing OK, and Hall is doing well.

The fact that we have at least 7 first team squad players to come into the side and are still going well just shows what a difference a year can make.

Tony is good at kick returns but not as good as made out on here sometimes. Byrne did well in his place and Hall's footballing calibre is of the highest order. Different players bringing different skills to the same position each with their own strengths. Good times as you say.

I'm pretty excited about Hall at FB. In fact I think he has the [ipotential[/i to be our best FB since Prescott. He seems to have all the necessary skills in abundance.

Why worry who the better player is when M Tony come back we will have players playing for they place in the team ..What a good headache for the Coaching Staff the more good player the better ..Just think who do you leave out if and when the 2other lads get visa's

I agree. I think it's not so much the quality of his kick returns that's being exaggarated but their importance to the team. The extra yards were so important when our pack were struggling to make ground, along with him taking an extra drive every set. I still maintain that whilst it obviously deserves credit it's not entirely his job and we shouldn't have been so reliant upon it. That's why his absence is not as notable this year IMO.
