in my opinion that it is the players (well certain ones) that are to blame for our poor performances . Last week we showed comitment , and the ability to throw the ball about and showed interest .

tonight we looked awful and any desire to win the game seemed to , at least in the second half to be non existent .

we have shown we can do it , but only in games the playes can lift themselves for , derbys are easy to lift for , but i always said it would be this week that showed if we have turned a corner . we havent cause the same lack of passion showed through tonight .

the Anti Agar crew should take a look at the past 3 years , we blamed kear , we blamed sharpe , now we blame agar , whats the one thing that has remained constant (ish) ? the playing staff

I thought the players showed passion and enthusiasm in the first 30 mins. But at the end of the day, they were clueless in attack as usual. Who sorts out the attack? The coach.

It's the coaches job to get the players to play to the game plan. To get them motivated for all games. To select the team and drop the players that aren't good enough.

He doesn't have control of the squad or the respect to make a difference it seems. He's had enough time to show things. At the end of the day, the players we have may not be the best, but they are WAY better than 11th in the table and 4 wins in 18.

Warrington had similar issues and got though 2 coaches too. Then Smith came along who could man-manage...

It's an interesting view though, if it's the case then pray tell why Hudds have made such great strides under Brown with only 2 or 3 notable additions to the squad that Jon Sharp had?

It's noticeable that certain people on this board haven't commented on this thread, this is down to narrow mindedness on there part.
It's all too easy for some to blame the coach when deep down we know that the players should be taking the blame. You can see that the best performing players this season are the new members of the team ie. Calderwood, Moa and the younger kids ie. Hall, briscoe.

the reason huddersfield are doing so well and i said it at tonights game is they have togetherness and team spirit which makes up for any lack of abitlity they may have

as for the coach lifting a team argument , why did we lift for the derby if agar can't lift a team? its off the players backs and they can't do it for "irrelavent" games , leeds at home we lifted but celtic we looked dead

i hate to say it but there seems to be a degree of egotism in the club with players feeling they have a god given right right to beat certain teams

so you're admitting that when they were sent out they were properly motivated and given we had 2 tries disallowed one which was very border line and had some good plays, when they scored the players heads went down and they started to feel sorry for themselves, that is solely down to player attitude.

As for the Rovers game, we were looking like we were going to get ripped apart until a fight broke out, it was only after that that the lads looked motivated.

When does a coach have a team that is entirely of his own choosing though?. It just doesn't happen. Tony Smith & Nathan Brown are doing well with players they haven't signed.
We'll probably have to put up with all this "not Agar's team" BS until next year & then they'll probably sack him 4 games in!.
Agar seems a good guy & I'd like to see him succeed, but all the evidence suggests it's not gonna work out.

It's fair enough if you personally hold that view, but to suggest that 'deep down' it's something we all know is bull$hit.

huddersfield have still looked good in recent years it takes time for players to gel into a squad .

we have looked bad before sharpe came in and this has been going on for years . my argument is that it is far to easy to blame a coach , regardless of how proven agar is we have had the same underlying problems for 3 seasons and by sheer logic these cannot be agar and john sharps fault

we look devoid of interest and will to win and have done for a while under 3 coaches and as i say its the players (and the board) who have remained the same
