Looking forward to next year (assuming we don't get a 7 this year), would £250K per year be about right? And if all that could be invested in one player what could you expect to get for the money?

That figure could be even higher if you consider the "huge" offer Briscoe was made to stay, some of which may be used on a transfer fee?

Or is having the best 7 we can get our hands on not the only issue?

I'm not sure lack of money was the issue this off-season when we failed to sign a scrum half. I suspect we offered Chase and Prince a king's ransom, but for whatever reason couldn't reach a deal.

not a chance of 250k, briscoe at the moment probably isnt on as much as people think he is cos of the length of his contract when he last signed.

seymour will be higher and probably wont be far off Ellis. It wouldnt surprise me if seymour has higher pay packet.

Briscoe has been really disappointing for me this year. No winger is good enough to be an English international if they can't finish off the situation Briscoe was in on Saturday when he broke the line and had the fullback running backwards.

Briscoe is on nowhere near the sort of money people think he is on. He has been offered a big contract, but is currently not highly payed

Brisco signed up cheap on 4 year deal aprox 50k and seymore on well over 100k should be around 200k spare if both players where to leave also ticks on over 100k and Omeley so would be alot of money going spare on the Cap should we lose these players i think ticks will go back to Lancs and Omeley home but i hope both stay but we will have some money to spend next year for sure when you take into account Gelea, whiting who else could be out of contract whos on decent money

briscoe, o'meley, galea, tickle and possibly seymour would free up a huge wedge but I doubt we'd replace them with similar quality overall

Pretty sure Heremaia's 3rd year is an option too (assume this is in the clubs favour) he's a decent player but not irreplaceable, but if he's on big wages than I think we'd have to let him go to fund the squad re-building.

we have the replacement for tickle in Ellis if he ever gets on the field id say omeley is going to be replaced by bowden and i would say that we need another "project" like moa for next year a big bulldozer forward and we have 2 great wingers in Crookes and lineham if briscoe goes so i think we would have more then enough to get a good 7 in and spare cash for a centre to replace yeamo who in my eyes is only there on past reputation he offers nothing
and then just a few squad adjustments and we will look better then this year imo

I doubt Seymour is on well over 100k. Prince is on Aud$150k at his new club.
