| This isn't another post to beat the club with but what the hell is actually going on with fan engagement as I don't see anything at all? It's like they don't even acknowledge we exist. Never have I known this club so self alienated as it is now which is strange as Myler said it was one of his key priorities. I want to re-engage with the club but they are only giving me reasons not do so. I'm honestly baffled as to what the hell is going on throughout the club tbh

| I think we’d all like clarification on the financial/ownership/investment situation but if the process is ongoing and there’s non disclosure agreements there’s not much can really be said.
Same with signings, they can’t announce signings that we’ve not made yet and releasing information on targets could weaken the position in negotiations.
If there is genuinely money available and a will to get a competitive squad together I’d just sooner they get on with it and get some quality in. Words mean nothing really.

Two completely different subjects. This one is about the fact that it seems no one at the club actually seems to care about the fan experience. It's almost like there isn't a single person at the club who gives a - this could explain atrocious performances and could explain the so called cancer. The club is on a knife edge and if it doesn't get things right fast I can see it going bust within two years

| I think two years is an over statement myself and I concur with your sentiments but surely its basic marketing here we all are shelling out every month for passes merch etc. turning up and trying to look happy then just when we all thought at least it can't get any worse we have to endure as bad a performance as we have seen since the 70's and even back then at least the players tried. Whilst at the other side of the City things go from strength to strength (good luck to The Dobbins for at least showing some enterprise ... ) yet we hear nothing at all to encourage us. However no doubt the letters will be coming asking for us to subscribe again and many of us will ....but for the first time in years a lot I speak to won't. If we have an investor waiting in the wings surely we deserve to hear about it or at least how it's progressing to at least give us a bit of encouragement. If not then tell us how it is and we'll all rally around as only the FC faithful can, but this hiatus while we sit there enduring bad performance after bad is soul destroying! It's our club, we love it and in the end owners CE's Coaches and players come and go but the fans are the only thing that is constant in all this. And.... without us they are stuffed... baffling!

| Silence? What silence? They emailed me last week saying shirts are half price, there's 3 posts on Facebook about discounted merchandise, and they've said there's "unmissable ticket deals" for the cas game...not sure what's unmissable about it though unless they're paying you to go

All very fair points and ones you'd be hard pressed to argue against.
As Seb said though, considering Myler has spoken openly about the clubs clear lack of engagement with its fans and saying along the lines of repairing/resolving this as one of the priorities it has once again gone disappointingly quiet on that front.
I myself found it particularly disappointing and just another kick in the teeth that there has been no apology or statement from Myler or Pearson about rank embarrassing performance of Saturday, which again just drives that wedge between club and fans even further.
I get/understand there will be stuff going on in the background that isn't for public knowledge etc but it doesn't mean that the club can't spare some time to engage properly with its fans and I don't count bits in the HDM about possible appointments as other than marketing for merchandise etc but other than the open training session there still seems very little effort to engage with its fansbase.
At the start of Mylers arrival it all sounded very promising but it's all now just starting to seem like the same old story just a different story teller..........or maybe I'm just now just so hacked off with the past few years I'm verging on the point of I'm just no longer interested anymore especially if the club don't genuinely care about the fanbase other than as a revenue stream.

Ever thought the whole investment thing is a con by Ritchie Richs father in law to get him a well paid insider job at Hull given his link to Leeds and obvious competition.
Now we know why he has made such p--s poor recruitment

At least when there was all the disquiet at Hull City due to losing a lot of players and not replacing them at the time,to his credit the Turk was on his plane and held an open fan forum.
Thats all Pearson has to do because most of the FC fan base are gullible and believe anything he says.
Has to happen if he wants to sell more than 5000 passes for next season

| What does ‘fan engagement’ look like?
Whenever Pearson talks to the media people either say what he’s said is a lie or don’t want to hear what he’s said as it’s the ‘same old’.
Myler gave an interview recently.
I’m not trying to protect the club, I’m genuinely interested in what people would like?

The return of proper fans forums. There's loads of questions about investment in the club, the COVID loan, the stadium lease, right through to more mundane questions like the club recently sent me a survey asking what I thought of the pre game entertainment etc
And of course some questions would be 'no comment' or batted away but we'd get a chance to raise our concerns.

| As has been said some kind of statement after our worst loss in a generation against London at magic weekend, perhaps someone coming forward and telling us what's happening at the club in terms of investment, perhaps an update on recruitment. There's still players we know have signed yet not announced.
I just feel that there's no one at the club with any passion in any department, we're run with zero enthusiasm from the first team to the match day experience to fan engagement to any sign of a long term plan. If I was a player I wouldn't want to sign for us, we're an absolute basket case and I genuinely do fear that if this continues we will be in serious difficulty within two years

Great idea and how we need it! And as for passion at the Club there seems to be far more on here!
WE used to promote two forums a year and the club and Adam always obliged they were held latterly at the Walton Club (when the Allams got shirty about using the Stadium) and were attended by 500 it was part of the remit of FC Voices but although they still exist as a group in principle at least I have heard nothing from them for ages. Looking back to the days of HISA we do suffer from not having a strong fans group to lobby the club, we can all bleat away individually but there is now no mechanism to meet with the club as a whole community. Perhaps that suits some I don't know????
When I was chair of FC Voices (for my sins), (something we were encourage to set up by Auntie Kath) Adam would meet with me every 6 weeks where I would raise stuff, often issues raised on RL fans and he would also meet with the group every 3 months who brought fans concerns forward first hand to him. We did get some real results too. That structure and the two open forums worked well and in fairness to him Clarky was always co-operative too.
But now the fans lack any sort of pressure group to exert some 'clout' and questionnaires certainly aren't the answer. Should a new investor come forward it would be an idea time to stage a forum because there is little redress these days, as far as the paying customers are concerned, and lets face it they aint a happy bunch. It's sad HISA aint still around.

I was thinking the same, what do people actually want them to engage with? For a club to have a good relationship with the fans it has to be a two way street and I’m sure if you ask people who represent the club (players, coaches, board members) they’ll probably say that fans just abuse and slag them off, mostly on social media but we’ve seen it at games too. People are entitled to their opinion and all that but it can’t be a coincidence that many people connected to the club use the word toxic to describe the fans.
That said, I’d love to hear someone from the club explaining the reasoning in allowing two of our most creative players in Hoy and Brown to leave without replacing them. We assumed at the time replacements were lined up but we had 4 months before the transfer deadline and did nothing. We had quota places and ample salary cap space. Both were off contract next year anyway so them keeping them wouldn’t have had an impact on next years recruitment. For me it’s unforgivable and the club did exactly what as Beaumont says and simply sacrificed the season the save some money.

problem is the truth hurts and its why many of the diehards on here hate any form of criticism of players or the club.
The club is a mess and i would go as far as saying its a basket case

A fans forum would be good.
I do believe Myler ‘gets it’, though. Time will tell.

| For me a fans forum is very much long over due and needed so fans can sit down with club officials and have the equivalent of a 1 to 1 question and answer session. That would be a great start to engagement secondly as part of the general apathy and malaise in the club and also the all important fan base I think discussions and implementation of a new and refreshed supporters group is needed. As Pete mentioned there seems very little going on in the fans base too which needs rectifying so its a genuine active body for the fans as well as acting as a conduit to the Club.

I agree, but it needs to be at the end of this season. It needs to be a line in the sand moment, and not tar any of the new employees - players & staff - with what has happened this year.

Great ideas but it takes a special person to set up any organisation especially a sports club fan based one. That’s why we don’t have one now. Younger generations just have this attitude of “who cares, let someone else do it “ The older generation have been there and done it and bought the T shirt and probably retired Ask Wilf.
I spent my working life in the major construction industry, spent a lot of time as a shop stupid, try get one now.
