As most people are saying, we are CRYING out for Lovodua to be given a go at hooker. I do like Hodgson but my patience is really wearing thin with his consistent persistence in playing Houghton there week after week for 80 minutes

Depends on if we get any injuries or suspensions and we have to sort out the hooking position.

If we beat Saints I'll be happy as a pig in muck. We've been miles off them recently. When did we last beat them? 2017?

It's one of them where to get anything we'd have to be at our best and Saints would have to be well off.

The rumour doing the rounds is that Lovodua refuses to play hooker, which, if true is a disgrace and he should be gone, however much the fans love him. For a quota spot, he isn't consistently good enough in the other roles he has filled to prevent us signing someone else from the NRL reserve pool who specialises in those poitions, in my opinion.

Yeah this is quickly becoming my biggest frustration for this season.

Especially when you read the comments from Hodgson and Lovodua when he first signed.

Even more so when you see the opposition hookers run amok because our middles are shattered.

The fact we don’t use the same tactic is just so confusing

If lover is refusing to play 9 which I've heard too and believe to be true, is he worth another year and quota? I don't think he is but I do believe he's already got a year from a clause on our side.

Hodgson mentioned in a recent interview that Lovodua is here next season.

Going off Saints recent form this could be a winnable game, they seem to be coasting to the play offs and as mentioned above they could be without a couple. The lads should take the positives from Friday night, we just need to be much smarter in terms of discipline.

I fancy us to win this one more than the Salford game, so if we need to win 4, which I think we do, its a must win.

4/5 IS A MUST for me, but think it might be too much, I think Leeds will get 5th now then it's one of four I honestly think its between us and Salford and they game against them will be massive for both clubs.

sts have got away with murder on and off the field for years.playing a teams when it suits,i still remember the covid farce last year.they had a fully fit squad for the final,should have been playing rovers on a short turnaround,when teams are vulnerable.suddenly they have a few down with covid.match off.following week we play leeds on the friday they also have a game.they called that off.had a nice fortnight off after wembley.we had a 2 day turnaround after leeds and played sts on the monday,who been resting for over 2 weeks.we unsurprisingly got well beat.i remember pearson wasnt happy.i didnt blame him.cheats

I'd have sympathy for him if he was an experienced NRL player who thought he was not been used in his favoured position.

Lovodua was a part time NSW cup player who didn't make the first grade and would probably have been released by Souths. There was no guarantee he would have been picked up by another club.

It's not for him to dictate what position he prefers to play and it's just staggers me that he refuses to play 9 the position he was brought over here for. He should be proud to play for the club full stop.

He started the season well but his form has fallen away like the rest of the team.

If he doesn't want to play 9 perhaps we should use his quota place to sign a specialist who does.

If we are going to have a utility player it should be Smith. Look at what he has done in his career compared to Lovodua.

I've never been one to criticise individual players but in this instance I feel justified. I've seen a lots of players over the years that are simply not good enough but as long as they've got the right attitude and put in the effort I'm reluctant call them out.

Of course all of this is speculation and if it turns out to be bollox!
