| Doing a good job for me too.
I had a wobble at the start of the season after the loss against Cas, but we seem to be heading in the right direction. Consistency and attitude are better this season, but we've still had the odd blip (Rovers and Cas).
We don't seem as effected when we have players missing too. Players like Mitch, Wynne, Brown have all slotted in and performed.
Hopefully we don't fall away in the 2nd half of the season like we usually do.

| I was worried after last season but was content to see if he could fix the problems with our attitude. He seems to have done that. I can't remember the last time we were consistently this good at home.
Our discipline was a concern at the start of the year but that seems to be getting better too. So that's another sign that the coaches are doing good work.
I thought 4th this year would be a bit of a stretch but here we are. On the one hand we are there thanks to a poor start from Warrington and a disasterous showing from Leeds. But on the other hand we have had serious problems at half back with no consistency to build on so our best might yet be to come.
With a bit of luck on the injury front, and if we get more from our halfbacks then we could earn a home game in the play offs and shot at one of the big boys.

Talking of discipline
four penalties in a row and a six again leading to their second try is not good enough

It's poor certainly but the score says it was good enough on the day. Against a better team that could be the difference between winning and losing. It'll give Odgo something to talk to the players about after what was otherwise a decent performance.

Im not too worried about those penalties or the number of set restarts yesterday, probably more set restarts yesterday in one game than we have seen all season
the referee seemed to pick n choose when he felt like it at times and that was for both teams

I was replying to a poster who said our discipline was better
Four penalties in a row plus a six again is hardly better discipline.
With our pack in good form, yesterday was an ideal game to to play Hookem yet once again the coach plays Johnstone who in reality is a championship quality player and yesterday did nothing. If Hookem had played and turned in a performance like Johnstone then most of us would have been disappointed as he has a lot more to his play than catch and pass.
Toulouse were poor and could hardly raise a team in the second half yet you are high on the fact it was their biggest defeat of the season instead of looking at the game and where we can be better.
Our pack is leading the way at the moment with Taylor and Evans getting more game time and fitness so for me the Saints game will be important just to see how we compete with a virtually first choice pack and Gale and Reynolds back.
What you can say is is if we continue with the indiscipline Saints will win comfortably

I felt BH got everything right yesterday from the selection to his use of interchanges. Yes I wasn't too thrilled with Johnstone at 7 put he put in a decent performance and did more than our experienced 6+7 have done recently. Toulouse have been competive in nearly all the games they have played so we should be happy with the performance and result. I do believe if Reynolds or gale had played then hookem could have a got a game but to put him with lovaduo I think would have been a mistake

He's like a number of other posters on here who's default position is pessimism. Cheer up, there's more of us than there are of them.

| In terms of penalties (=6th) and yellow cards (=8th) we are pretty much average in Super League this season.
It would be interesting to see the stats for 'six agains' but I'm not sure they are published anywhere.

Shame the stats come a very poor second to the NRL. Last time I looked there didn't appear to be a detail you couldn't find.

I’m not sure the Refs know why they give them most of the time.

The operative word in the above is "few". Most people are fully behind him and appreciate the good job he's doing. Its the perennial pessimists who have nothing better to do than constantly snipe who are the few that you mention.

| I think given that we lost 9 of the last 10 last year we'd have taken the current position after 13 rounds, particularly the home form and the fact we've beaten Wigan, Catalans and Warrington and not really had some of those horrific blow out losses.
Pretty happy with the pack and outside backs and the fact we have some good talent coming through. Halves and attacking structure still the big issue for me when Connor's not "on it". Both in terms of getting the most from what we currently have and what that will look like next year. Team spirit seems good and I think Hodgson is a broad thinker beyond the playing side - fans involvement etc. I think he's OOC next year so wonder whether they're thinking about an extension. Ambiguity and awkward resolution around the coaching position can derail a club pretty quickly so hope this is avoided.

| Doing Ok for me although at this time last year we were in a similarly good position, sitting in 5th place. Hopefully no slump as we saw in the second half of 2021 - there were mitigating circumstances of course with Covid and having home games with Leigh and Salford cancelled.
I like the team we are assembling off the field and the academy seems in rude health but it all depends on the first team squad decisions next season. The much hyped Trueman signing looks a good one but what happens with Gale and what are the plans for Jake Connor.

Pretty fair assessment. Some stuff and areas are much improved and likewise there are areas we still seem to be lacking a similar levels of improvement. Think the half backs this season are a cause of concern and not helping Hodgson admittedly.
Still feel he lacks the courage to go with youth over senior players if not performing.
I think the business end of the season will be the biggest test as that is were we have failed to deliver big time the past few seasons.
Home results have been much improved which Is a big tick in the box plus the style/form of play at home has been improving slowly.
Overall I’m happy so far but doesn’t mean I won’t mention things that aren’t so good.

| I'm glad he's sorted out our home form. And that's not just cos a I got a pass this year.
We also seem a lot more robust which is nice. Not quite up to the epic goal line defences of 2016 and 17 but definitely an improvement.
Our attack is a bit basic right now but I'm sure he's aware of that and if we can have the same apime for two weeks running I'm sure it'll get better.
B+ Could do better

| Biggest difference this season is our reduced error count.
We seem a lot more comfortable going set for set against teams too. The Cats, Hudds, Wire and Wigan home games would've seen us panic in previous seasons and end up losing a few of those games.
Can he lead us to silverware? I'm unsure, but he's turning things around after we got stale under Radford.

| Not sure if anyone on here went to it but he spoke brilliantly at the video analysis session which was open to fans.
Honesty and togetherness were the big things that he places so much emphasis on and I think it's been clear over the past few weeks how together we are as a team right now, the reaction to Balmforths try and Sataes on Saturday was so good to see.
He also spoke highly of Gaz Ellis and how he is really growing into the role as our defensive coach and Shenton got so much praise from everyone there for the job he is doing.
