Just to clarify, Koukash tweeted last night that they were working on a big signing. Apparantly the player in question (the following is rumours only) is Super League based and can play in the forwards or backs.

Also, as they're hopeful of the deal being completed next week one would assume said player is on holiday following international duties and therefore returns this weekend/next week.

Everyone is purely guessing and speculating at the moment, including Neil Barker.

I cant it happening at all, it would go against everything Radford and AP are trying to do.

If it did, I would be massively disappointed in the club and it would make me regret buying my pass.

I doubt its Westerman. Especially if it's Barker mentioning it. He's well known for being wide of the mark more often than not.

I don't get how Salford are staying under the cap.

Since last season we've lost Jake Mullaney, Tim Smith, Francis Meli, Danny Williams, Martin Gleeson, Steve Rapira, Shannon McPherson, Matty Ashurst, Jordan Davies, Will Hope and Gareth Owen.

They have been replaced with Kevin Locke, Mason Caton-Brown, Michael Dobson, Ben Jones-Bishop, Josh Griffin, Weller Hauraki, Scott Taylor, Liam Hood, Carl Forster, George Griffin Luke Menzies and Brad England.

if you think those that have been released were on more money than those who joined this coming season and mid last season people are going to think salford are over, dobson was a high earner at kr his value wont have dropped since then

If you look at our incomings, you would say Kevin Locke, Ben Jones-Bishop and Michael Dobson will be highest earners. The rest wont be on much at all (with the exception of Hauraki who will be on a reasonable wage) the majority are young English lads that have come from lower teams (ie MCB, Griffin, Forster, Menzies etc).

the 3 high earners will take up a large chunk at a guess, a long with chase!

like most clubs when signing players, they will get more of their contract payments in the latter of it.

from what dr evil as said in the past, he doesn't seem to care much about the salary cap, and if Salford were to win cc or the gf, wouldn't the money they got from them and/or earned leading upto it (tv, merchandise etc) out weigh the fine handed out?

The fact is, nobody knows what anybody is being paid you're all simply assuming Salford MUST be over the cap. When infact the reality is we're just spending what the majority of other clubs are doing.

So nobody knows what anyone at Salford is paid, but you know they the club are spending the same as other clubs.

Salford be in the cap. Big players are only on average salaries. It's their appearance monies for things outside rugby ie promoting horses for a few days work which is easily done outside the cap.
