Only a friendly I know but was pleased with the attitude of our players, as interchanges were been made regular for both I thought he got ours spot on, still a lot to work on but we beat them so I'm pleased.

Only problem is, the team that's won the last two friendlies has gone on to only win one of the three league games. Hopefully that will change this year!

Safe to say it will be Rankin and Horne as our starting 6+7 . Thought paea and feka played well when on the pitch and Harry TW looked pretty good . The 28 for kr looked pretty handy for a young kid , is that berehall(sp) ?

Another season starts without a recognised Scrum Half in the team. Just puts far too much pressure on Horne.

You re correct, i said Miller was no good, but want him to prove me wrong so bad, only time will tell.

Looked decent mate , he's not gonna be Tom Briscoe but looks quite nifty for a big guy . He'll be going in my dream team

Thought there were quite a few positives today,bit more fitness work to be done on talanoa and I reckon he'll go ok for us.rankin looks comfortable taking on the line ,forwards went well,too many offloads by them for my liking but that can be sorted.Only concern for me was the lack of minutes for Feka ,hope he's not injured.

Good hit out, teams looked pretty well matched at the start when both sides had their senior players on. Then we put our kids out and Rovers got on top, then Rovers put their kids out, we put our first team back on and took control again. No surprises there.

I thought our pack was good. Paea, Feka and Ellis in particular looked really good. Bowden looked strong too. Rankin showed glimpses, Talanoa was strong in the tackle. All in all more positives than negatives.

Rankin looked really good today. Got a boot on him, quick of the mark and good D.
I dont understand why Miller didnt play with the first team at all. Looks like it will be Rankin and Horne against Cats looking at how we set out today. Hope Rankin and Miller get sometime together against Fev as Rankin and Horne are to much alike for me.

Thought the young guys did well in the last 15 minutes if the first half. Especially number 2 on the wing

Thought all the question mark players showed up well. Feka, Azza and Fezza all taken off as injury precautions.

Only disappointment was Miller, he seems to have regressed at the moment but its a long season and he has all the skills, he just needs to use them better.

Its tough for Miller when he has the lesser players around him though.

good hit out, more pleased with our defence after the poor showing at bradford last week, to concede 1 try against their strongest starting line up with a man down and fringe players on was very encouriging!

once the teams start swapping and changing their line ups its hard to take anything out the game apart from fitness and to try a few new moves

Your right, he didn't have too many options. He will still get his chance, his attitude is good and its a long season. I don't think with the terms of his work permit that he can go out on dial reg though which won't help.

For me he's still Hulls only real 7.

If which by the looks of things it'll be Rankin and Horne starting im not sure who will take the team around the park.

We could play miller all season and he won't "take us around the park". He isn't good enough. We should only have 1 inexperienced half back not 2 (3 if you count HTW)

A good run out and nice to see some decent performances.

Our young number 2 looked ok but how old is he - 12? lol

Also Rankin - when he gets the ball for a kick he seems to have all the time in the world to get it away. And he has a lovely step.

Need to try and get Miller out of the shell he seems to have retreated in to.

Anybody else feel the players were told to go out and show the fans how much it meant? Let's hope it continues to mean something for the rest of the year and we see an overall improvement in attitude.

Rankin looks like he's gonna be a star, Westerman looks to be showing a bit more enthusiasm and Mickey Paea will give us more go forward than we've had recently.

Miller seems to have plenty of critics but he threw the best pass of the day for me.

I think Radford will have him up there when the serious match selections are made.

Fairly pleased with this afternoon's efforts, we played our youngsters for a far longer period than Rovers did.

although they will deny it, rovers youngsters only came on for the start of the second half, the players celebrations were quite amusing and reading the dobbins board they quickly forgot last seasons friendly and their own players reactions after scoring!

Fairly good hit out for both sides, I'd have to disagree that your youngsters got more game time though. We played our strongest side for 20 minutes of the game which was a pretty even split in terms of performances from both sides and from that point the senior Rovers players one by one started to hit the showers. Most where showered and track suited up for the 2nd half just above the dugouts.
