| I don't normally mind AP but the guy has sort of ruffled my feathers a bit today with what he has put in the local rag. He claims that he aims to win back the two to three thousand missing FC fans that have gone AWOL over the last two years! Reality check Adam, Hull is one of the most affected areas in this recession so hence more job losses and more people without available leisure money at their disposal. If he is so interested in boosting the gate numbers then why don't Hull reduce their admission charges from what can be as high as £25 in certain areas to an affordable £15 and so on. Surely a KC stadium with 20,000 screaming Hull fans is better than a stadium with 12,500 in it? The extra revenue also comes from program, refreshment, shirt and miscellaneous sales. The truth of the matter is that even if a couple go to FC you can on average be forking out in excess of £60-£75 with admission, drinks etc, which in these times of financial hardship that a lot of people are feeling at the moment is a huge dent out of their budget. I'm certain lots of FC fans would love to follow the team in person Adam but facts are facts and its just way too expensive!!!

| Sorry but if he expects to attract the 3-4k fans over easter at £20-23 a ticket he really does need a reality check.
I also see a lot of Hull City fans complaining they recieved the FC Grapevine asking them to buy a ticket yesterday... Low gate anyone? Or just a last rally round?
I still appreciate everything you have done though Adam, so don't take this as a negative please !

Yeah, why don't we promote £60 season tickets too. Just think, in a couple of years' time we could be asking our supporters to stump up £500k in a fortnight.
I can see that you've really given this some thought, what with the ticket deal with the SMC and all the reveue we get to keep from refreshment sales

Our deal with the SMC means that it's difficult to do cut-price plans that don't end up losing the club money. The more people in the stadium the less each one earns us, and we don't benefit from increased sales of food and drink.
I'd also suggest that we're a long way from hitting crowds of 20k Hull fans regardless of how cheap tickets get.

| I think we should consider doing some family deals for certain matches, also some freebies for schools, a neighbour of mine is now a season pass holder with his daughter, they attended on a school freebie and enjoyed it that much they have attended ever since.

| It's a two way thing with AP and the fans. If we want him to invest money and help make us great again he needs bums on seats. He wants the crowd back up to 13k averages. I don't see what's wrong with that.

We very rarely spend in there, the odd bovril or pint, it is too expensive. I see most families around me taking there own sweets & drinks for the kids and rightly so no doubt saves them a fortune and helps towards the cost of their attendance.

| I've said elsewhere, I bet the pubs will be full of people watching the game in Hull and Rovers shirts. No doubt spending more on ale than the price of a ticket.

| I appreciate that i don't fully understand the percentage that FC get through things like food etc but surely you can see the point i was trying to make? And the comment about £60 season passes well at £15 a ticket like i proposed that would make the season 8 matches long! Yes i am being as ridiculous as your comment before you ask!!! I didn't ask for sarcasm i was merely stating a fact that AP has angered me as to why he is questioning the missing fans in times of financial hardship. I do feel that the club can do more to reduce ticket prices or are you suggesting that their hands are tied and are held to ransom if you like by the SMC???

| And over the last 18 months we had thread after thread of "stay at home" "i aint buying a ticket/pass/fluffy toy" "hit em where it hurts"
Nobody wanted to admit the problem was Rule Kath et al.
Well people must have listened, gates went down, we remain very expensive to watch for the product. I dont blame him for his comments (I've not seen them yet)
As a side, if you all want to swipe at a rallying call, we've had them in the past, dont forget. Maybe you should petition for him to issue the same call to City fans to find their missing 7000
In AP we trust......

Indeed, well said
I cant believe people having a go at a chairman who speaks, who we see at games, who has (almost) brought the club back to the fans.
Would you rather have Kath driving up on friday in her Leeds car?

Unfortunately you have to 'put up with' a load of 'd1ck' replies from him (and others).
They see themselves as the 'keepers' on here.

Yeah i am starting to realize that one! Like i stated earlier i am merely just a fan not a share holder or a self professed know it all on the financial affairs of FC, so i honestly do not know what FC get from the SMC regarding tickets, food etc. I guess unless your not in the know of every fact, figure and stat your not worthy of an opinion by SOME ON HERE!!! I also believe AP is doing an excellent job at FC but like i also stated he just ruffled my feathers today by asking were the missing few were. Ultimately i just want whats best for the club, the fans and the future of FC.

there is nothing wrong with it.
But the simple fact is, it is just too expensive, the economic situation at the moment is effecting all walks of life. for people who dont have a pass to stump up £23 pound is way too high, bring a couple of kids, a few drinks you are looking at best part of £60. AP has to realise this and slash the prices, £10 tickets? buy one get one free? free kids tickets? get people in, if they enjoy what they see, they will come again, they will maybe buy a pass next season.

| How about a half season pass - still includes home games with Wigan, St's and Leeds - that makes it more attractive to fans to buy their pass, whilst saving a few quyid. These people may eventually renew with a full pass next year. It gurantees bigger crowds for the club and lets the club chase the floaters.

I thought I'd made a reasoned response TBH. Oh well.
I was just pointing out that because of our deal with the SMC it's not as easy as it might appear to simply drop prices and get the crowds back that way while still making enough cash to make it worthwhile. And I'm not sure if we get any of the revenue from the stadium concessions at all. Pearson has said that he's trying to renegotiate the deal to give us more flexibility on pricing but I guess that will be a long process as the SMC are hardly minted if you believe their accounts.
Pearson has implemented a price cut for the South Stand this season and I guess he's close to the minimum pricing he can afford with the crowds that we're getting and the current deal with the SMC. I'm also sure he'll be looking at other possibilities as he's not daft and must realise that the economy is a big reason why crowds are not bouncing back as fast as he'd like. On the other hand we did have several posters on here claiming that they were staying away only because of Agar and the last BOD so it would be interesting to see if they've all returned or not.
FWIW I'm making my small contribution to tomorrows gate by coming up with my family (4 extra tickets sold) but many people will only just be feeling the full effects of the swingeing cuts implemented by the Government and when you find your income suddenly cut by around £3k a year it's going to be hard to justify spending more on RL.

| As someone who stated that i wouldn't give another penny to Heatheringtons reign despite loving the club i maybe one of those missing thousands. i do though live miles away and still have tough financial decisions to make. i have been to the KC this year and i will be at Huddersfield on Monday. i wont though be at the KC tomorrow. Not in protest but i pay a fortune to Sky and with 4 kids two of whom are FC barmy we will settle round the tv and watch tomorrows game. Thankfully we also have FC Live which means i have not missed any action this year.
When at the KC i have used the family ticket to great effect. £50 for 4 of us is as good value as we can expect.
As we say in Adam we trust. we might not see gates going up but if people like me who refused to support the last regieme are now spending hundreds in shirts (4 in our house) FC Live and seeing the odd game then i am sure we will be moving in the right direction. its not all about gate receipts in todays world.
