I've been seriously impressed with him all-round. Clearly has a fantastic attitude and his work rate is incredible - not hard to see why the squad were delighted he was appointed captain. A real captain's knock again last night, galvanized the pack when he came back on. A great role model for the emerging younger forwards too.
Top signing. Was a massive fan of Fitzgibbon, but Lynch is a more than adequate replacement IMO.

Absolute machine, was always impressed with him at Bradford but didn't realise how good he actually is.

Love the passing game he has on him too, had a big hand in both of our tries in the first half due to this.

Top signing, excellent work ethic and steadies the ship when he is on the pitch....love the guy!!

better than Fitz IMHO (and I was a doubter when we signed him, I admit)

He has been better than "Sir" Fitz IMO.....seems to be better at the captaincy and just a bloody good all round player and like Standee said,i doubted the signing but like being proved wrong.

Just imagine if we'd have signed him a couple of years ago and had him and Fitzy in the same side.

Would still have had Agar though and using Fitz at 13....sorry but Fitz didnt do it for me,a privelage to see a true modern day legend play for us but i have seen better than Fitz in and Hull shirt and wouldnt have him in my top 10 overseas players.

I do think that a few of the posts are a little unkind to Fitz, who, along with Ticks and Ogre, carried Hull at times during his time at the club. This year, we have a completely different attitude and mentality (not to mention a complete regime change) at the club which will certainly help Lynchy perform. Not trying to knock Lynchy, who I think is awesome, however Fitz was very special indeed - albeit under different circumstances, not least a coach!

I agree with that, like you say it was a privilege to see him in our shirt, and no doubts he was a work-horse but the bloke only broke a hand-full of tackles in all the time he was here.

Certainly Lynch is far superior to the Fitz we saw hard worker though he was.

Fitz was hampered by playing in Agar's team though, a better coach would have spelled him and introduced him to calm the game down/shore up the defence at key points. Instead he got flogged to death for the full 80.

Andy Lynch has already proven to be an absolutely immense signing. Not been a worthier holder of the position of captain of Hull FC in the SL era IMO.

We carried Fitzgibbon in possession at least as much as he carried us in defence. He may have been special during his career, but certainly not while with us, he was far from it.

Lynch has been absolutely outstanding for us in both attack and defence, and I actually think it's doing him a disservice to make the comparison.

That is incredibly harsh, what was he ever asked to do in attack? It's only like when Aspinwalls at 13 except Fitz was 10 times the defender. Shockingly poor statement that.

I was very impressed when we signed him (and didn't care one jot about his age) but he is even better than I thought. IMMENSE in every way!

He was often at first receiver when trying to move the ball along the line and his passing was shockingly slow. He also lumbered at the line rather than attacked it. I've also not seen Aspinwall knocked on his a*se yet like I did Fitzgibbon several times, but maybe that will change on Friday when he faces the incredible might if Fitzgibbon's nemesis, Scott 'are you going to finish that pie?' Murrell, eh?

He's been the most over-rated player we've had in the years I've been watching, a good player and a terrific grafter, but the amount he brought to our team is vastly overestimated.

Wow, for somebody usually so reasoned and balanced on here that's shocking.

It shouldn't be if you read my posts on him when he was here. I appreciate that some of it was down to the poor team he was in and the poor coaching it received, but I genuinely don't think he was that good for us as a team, and that that was partly down to him and his attitude as well. Reading his writings/quotes in articles and listening to his interviews, there was more than a whiff of arrogance about him, and he seemed to see playing 80 minutes every week as some sort of crusade to prove his incredible fitness at his age, despite this not being in the best interests of the team with his performance levels. Our lack of a strong coach did not help either, and I got the impression he was treated with a certain amount of reverance which meant he had more control/influence than a player should.

Lynch has been an outstanding signing. Really brilliant. Can't say enough fora out him so far.

As for the jibes at Fitz, for me it was appreciating his sheer presence, effort and passion for doing all the right things. I know we didn't get him in his prime, but for me Fitz was great for us.

Lynch has been great this season and will have to be outstanding if we are to win on Friday, a lot on his shoulders with Ogre and Moa out. Has a good mix of yards and good hands close to the line. Real workhorse but with quality.

You have been the beneficiary of the Bulls' financial situation. Lynch left because the club seemingly needed the transfer fee. Your gain, fekking crap for us.

Would you believe, we had fans who did not see Lynch going as being a dreadful loss? You could not make it up.

Great to see Andy getting the recognition he deserves at your place. He's a superb guy too. Maybe one day the wassock in charge of England will recognise it.

Again, his passing was a major part of 2 of 4 of our tries. Brilliant.
