Well guys haven't been on for god knows how long, years most probably but would just like to thank fitz for the good work he has put in, on and off the field.
Really could of done with him in the playoffs on the way to the grand final

Gutted.



A sad way to end such a prestigious career - I was really hoping he could go out with a bang. Good luck to him whatever he does in the future, and it's been a privilege to see him playing for FC.

gutted for him ,but hes loved his time here and he is one top aussy who will be spreading the word back home what a great club this is ,thanks fitz you have been great both on and off the pitch true gentleman and wonderful example to our young players ,maybe you will fing your way back in the future im sure you will make a top coach in the future

He sits alongside Peter Sterling as one of the best players I have ever seen play for us.

Unlike some southern hemisphere players, he DID'NT come for a holiday.

Pure class, Pure profressional......sad way for him to go out.....GUTTED FOR HIM.

Really disappointed for Fitz been a model professional whilst here and a sad way for him to retire.

Awful news, he has been a fantastic player and has always given 100% for the club.

I know the players usually do a lap of honour at the final home league game anyway...but I hope Fitz and Long get a round of applause before kick-off, they have both made massive contributions to Rugby League.

Fitz yes, Long I don't care about done nothing for us.

I disagree, Long has tried his hardest for us IMO but injuries have obviously blighted his spell.

I am still glad to see both players pull on the Black and White.

Always sad when someone retires, but he has finished his game at the top and hopefully we will get to say thank you properly on Friday night.

Hope we get the chance to show our appreciation on Friday as with Richard Swain.

Fitz is a real professional and it's been a pleasure seeing him play for Hull FC.

As others have said, a privilege to see a player of his stature in the B&W irregular hoops, and the polar opposite of an Aussie coming here just for his pension. All the best Fitz.

Personally I think he will. If anything, if he is not there it will ot do his reputation any good and he openly admits to his immaturity of the past being exactly that, in the past.

There are a few on here who have slagged of Long, which staggers me. In many ways he is similar to Fitzgibbon in that he ihas been forced to retire through injury, Whether he should have been signed for 2 years or at all is largely irrelevant, he was signed and he did a good job when he played. Dislocated elbow, broken hand, dislocated shoulder. Theses are not fatigue injuries.

Long will get my applause at the end of the game tomorrow, along with Fitzgibbon.

Btw, there was a recent thread about hard players. Craig Fitzgibbon needs now mentioning on that thread. A "run through a brick wall" type player. FFS he actually walked off the pitch at Castleford with a broken ankle

Legend gets slung around way to often nowadays but Legend suits Fitz, everything about him is professional on and off the pitch.
To have seen him play in a Black & White and actually meet the man in the flesh has been an absolute honour and is definatley something to tell the grand kids about when they ask me who my favourite Hull Fc players were.
Its just a shame its ended hows its ended with the injury...
I just hope the younger guys have took a leaf out of his book and seen what you can achieve if you put the hard work in.
